Here we go AGAIN!

Monday through Friday, we leave home at 5:17 AM to be at the YMCA gym at 5:30.
This morning, as I backed out of the driveway, I noticed the street lights had misty fog, only showing where the lights were. The fog was moving in.

Sandra: "Look at the mist in the lights"
Bob: "fog in the lights"
Sandra: "I just said that"
Bob: "No, you said mist, it's fog"
Sandra: "It's mist if you can see through it and it's only where the light is"
Bob: "It's fog no matter where it is"

And so forth and so forth, you fill in the blanks.
On the way home, at 6:30, the FOG was on the roadway and we could hardly see the trees and no sky at all, as I drove slowly through the FOG
Sandra: "now this if FOG"
Bob: "Right, this if Fog and it was fog an hour ago."

and so forth and so forth. Since I had no clue what to do for my daily post I decided to find a few fog pictures to go with the discussion. I started to say argument then thought quarrel.

1st question. did we Quarrel or argue?

2nd question. Is there a difference in fog and mist?

OF COURSE I GOOGLED IT!!!!!!!!!
Quarrel-squabble, disagree angrily, angry dispute or disagreement that causes temporary cease of friendly relations.

Argue-present reasons for or against, to persuade by reasoning.

Fog-a cloudlike mass or layer of minute water droplets or ice crystals near the surface of the earth, appreciably reducing visibility.

Mist-a cloudlike aggregation of minute globules of water suspended in the atmosphere at or near the earth's surface, reducing visibility to a lesser degree than fog.

The Fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over the harbor and city on silent haunces and then it moves on. Carl Sandburg

Whether it's fog or mist, it makes for interesting and lovely pictures, especially the first one.

Too funny. Good pictures! I have an upcoming fog post, but it's not funny like yours! You need to write a book. You already have a good theme. We deal with lots of fog here on the mountain. Once there was a pileup of over 60 cars. We even have special fog lites set into the mountain road.

I have "discussions" like that with my other half :o) Mist helps beautify/mystify the subject of a photograph, fog just stops you from seeing your hand in front of your face. As there's a continuum between the two I agree with Snapper II - this looks a bit like "misty fog" or perhaps "foggy mist" - ha ha :o)

Re quarrel vs argument, souns to be more like an agreement to disagree.

Oh I'm so glad I found your blog, Sandra... I love it... I think I know the problem though. You two get up entirely too early..... ha ha ha... Now that's dedication --in order to get exercise.

George and I tried that in 2004.... He didn't mind getting up early but I hated it. I thought to myself: I got up early all through the years while I was working. Now that I'm retired--I don't HAVE to do that anymore... That's my excuse!!!!

You two have an 'interesting' relationship... All of those discussions keeps you both mentally alert. No Alzheimer's for you two....

Hugs,
Betsy
Thanks for the PLUG...

Fog, mist? Argue, quarrel?? I guess to stay out of trouble I had better take the 5th! A good answer would be, OK, RIGHT! When talking to THE MAN, then think what you want to think. There! Problem solved!! (maybe????)

The two of you sound so much like hubby and me, usually Google can solve the problem. Or sometimes it gets so silly we start laughing and forget the whole thing.

Beautiful photos, the misty fog gives the trees a surreal look. Mist or fog, I don't mind either unless it's ice fog.

Love the "mist/fog" pictures.... I miss the opportunity for "discussion/quarrel" situations.

Thank you for one more interesting, funny and useful post. All photos are great but the first one with a bench is my favourite.
