Love, Gulls et cetera

Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law Romans 13:10

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. Luke 6:32

As I watched these gulls and clicked away to the tune of over 100 pictures, I thought they are just like people, no love or caring for each other, Me, Me, Mine, Mine they screeched.
If you Click on the next 3 photos and carefully look at each bird, you will see attitudes that are strangely similar to we humans.
Screaming at each other, pecking and biting and flapping and fighting. They all wanted the food source, a floating dead jelly fish. No sharing, no love, no caring. Just it's mine, it's mine. look at their faces.

God made all the creatures, and gave them our love and our fear, To give sign we and they are his children, one family here.
- Robert Browning

We cannot really love anybody with whom we never laugh.
- Agnes Repplier
this baby gull, had attitude. He stared me down as I clicked away, I was laughing out loud as he appeared to stand with his hands on his hip, indignant that I was interrupting his search for food.

I laughed with him and loved him. Tiny little gull about 8 inches tall. the smallest I had ever seen. It was just at daybreak, no sunshine yet and they were busy eating breakfast.

Love and magic have a great deal in common. They enrich the soul, delight the heart. And they both take practice.
- Nora Roberts

With love and patience, nothing is impossible.
- Daisaku Ikeda

Love the earth and sun and animals, Despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, Stand up for the stupid and crazy, Devote your income and labor to others . . . And your very flesh shall be a great poem.
- Walt Whitman

A self-centered man admitted:: "Sure, I know that the Bible says to love our neighbors as ourselves. But frankly, I don't believe that my neighbors can stand all that affection."
- Anonymous
If men and nations did reach up to God with all their hearts, war would cease. If love of God were in the heart of man, a man would have no desire to destroy his brother. There would be no dishonesty if the love of God were in the heart. If God came first in his life, a man would love his neighbor as himself, and instead of taking from him, he would feel to give.
- Rex C. Reeve, Sr.

Hi Sandra, Thanks for visiting my blog. I am enjoying yours. Your bird pictures are fabulous. LOVE that baby gull. What a Cutie Pie. I also love the quotes you use with each picture. And YES---we all do need to LAUGH.

Come back ANYTIME... I'll be back to yours.

Hugs,
Betsy

What an insightful post! How do you think of these things? You are so right. Gulls have been given a rap of bring stupid and selfish...that may be true. Of course, any bird that hangs out at Mcdonald's for tidbits can't be all bad. As usual, great pictures! I believe you could make good money as a professional photographer.I photograph some things for my church, and am still not near as good as you are.The little gull is sweet, you can see his still growing feather tufts sticking up on top of his head...kind of like a punk gull.
