Temporary Insanity

I commented on  this post on Addicted to the Click that some things I have done in the past can only be covered by the words Temporary Insanity. I read this statement in an email last week.
Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth

And One thought led to another and I realized My Mouth has been a problem most of my life.  I found a few quotes that fit my thoughts and chose Bird Houses for photos because I like them.

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right time,
but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity. Proverbs 21:23

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctr- Alt- Delete' and start all over?
But since we cannot delete things from our past or take back words spoken, we are fortunate to have a God that is forgiving. This led me to the thought we should all practice forgiveness and if we let God keep his hand over our mouths, we would not need to practice forgivness nearly as much.

How true these thoughts are! We even say things we shouldn't after all the warnings in the Bible! I'm trying very hard to think before I speak, but I'm an emotional fast talker. People at times ask me to slow down. Especially doctors when I come at them with a million questions all at once. Delightful, cozy birdhouses. Are any yours? I can see that one looks occupied. About the saucer. On that first picture with being able to see our granddaughter through it. I was standing there beside her, and the saucer flew just a few inches in front of the camera. I snapped, and didn't see what a great surprise I got till I downloaded it on my computer! So it was unposed. There's no way to control the thing, as there's no remote control. It spins at a very fast rate and has a fan under it. It goes wherever it wants, and you just have to try and grab it if it get's out of control.

Ctrl-Z would be very useful .... just to be able to backtrack occasionally :S

I love the pics of the bird houses, but I love the truth in your words of wisdom. I think all of us could do better if we hold our hands over our mouths.

Sandra - love those birdhouses! Thank you for the shout out AND yes - I so wish sometimes I could Ctrl+Alt+Del and start OVER! The true blessing sometimes is being able to keep mouth closed when something unkind is about to be said. I do thank God when I can do that!

Girlie, We ALL say things we shouldn't say at times. Don't beat yourself up for that.. That's just part of being human. ALL of us do it..We are not perfect---yet God still loves us.

I talk alot also --and have said many things through the years to upset someone else. I lost a good blog friend probably because of something I said. I have no idea what it was --but she abruptly stopped following me or writing me .. I was shocked --but never wrote and asked what happened. I truly have no idea. I still see her online--but if she doesn't want to be my friend--well, I'm just sorry about that.

I say --let's just be who we are and live the best life we can, with God's help. Thanks Be to God that he loves me --as sinful as I am!!!!!

Love the birdhouses.
Hugs,
Betsy

Great pictures of the bird houses! Really like your theme today. If we would just hesitate a few seconds when we are upset, before we speak, it could save a lot of pain. Gossip is bad too and I don't know many people who do not talk about others. The tongue can be a very sharp blade.
