Where is Spring?

Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world. ~Virgil A. Kraft

The folklore of 21 March being the "first day of spring" persists but in our sunshine state of Florida, signs of spring appear long before the middle of March.

the unseasonable cold continues here, we are at 36 today but even with this there are many signs of spring. The sun peeked through our jungle backyard and I found it is very difficult to shoot facing the sun, but this photo suits my purpose today.

this is a photo of our loblolly pine, we have 3 of them and bought this house because of all the trees. this photo was taken last year. i am using it to show how God's sunshine changes the way we look at things.

This is the same tree, same view two days ago when the spring sun struggled against the cold and lit up the trunk and limbs of the tree. God's spotlight told me Spring is on the way.

.
Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn. ~Quoted by Lewis Grizzard in Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You

Life of a simple weed is beautfiul when the sun lights it up. This vine will cover everything in its path, but in this photo is quite beautiful. the sun decorates the base of the pine. I found something in the tree that I have never noticed until 2 weeks ago.
Coming Soon at a blog near you. A secret of our pine tree.
It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain

Hope this makes a little fun for those of you with Spring Fever. What is this. answer tomorrow.

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~Anne Bradstreet

That's the question I've been asking a lot lately!
The sunshine through the trees is lovely.
I have no idea what your mystery picture is...the first thing that popped into my mind was the valve on a pressure cooker. LOL!

First, thank you so much for the Friendship Award! We are twins separated at birth! Here's another reason I'm loving it. Every time I checked your blog yeaterday, I saw your new daisy header, and just adored it. So now you've GIVEN me some!! So now we are getting ESP! And no, that does not stand for especially scared people! But in our case, maybe it should!! Awards are just too cool!!! I'm so excited!! But I about croaked when I saw your stunning sun through your trees!! It's amazing! Here's a dream I had about a month ago: I took a picture of the full sun and my camera lens shattered into a million pieces. I love the guessing games! I think I have a shot at this on, too! I'm going to say it's an outdoor grill cooker, probably the top or lid of it, because that fits right in with spring!

Look on my blog list for Sacred Ruminations. Click on her blog and watch the three minute movie on today's post. It's really good.

Spring is definitely NOT in Tennessee. Our temperatures are 20° below normal. But I do thank you for sharing the sun in your pictures. I also like the green you've found in your yard.

YOUR PICTURES ARE GREAT, I AM DEFINITLY LOOKING FOR SPRING. MY DAUGHTERS DAFFODILES ARE POKING UP THROUGH THE COLD, COLD, GROUND AND SHE LIVES IN ILL. THE SHINY THING LOOKS LIKE A RIM OF A TRASH RECEPTABLE BY OUR ELEVATOR.Barbara

Love all your photos Sandra, I haven't seen loblolly pines in a long time. Sorry to hear it is so cold down your way. We (in the north) are having a sunny day with 60 degrees. I love your new header.

I was totally amazed when I opened you page and saw the Flowers of Friendship award you gave to Ginny, that is so sweet. Do you know who designed that button? Glad to see it is still bring smiles, I love Shasta Daisies.

Hurry Spring. The last pic is a UFO, and I know this because I rode in one last week after I tried to wake up the bear.

Hi Sandra, Love your 'sunny' pictures --even if it is still cold down there. It's cold here too--as George said. We're glad to be home---but it's supposed to snow here tomorrow. SO--I can definitely say that it's not spring here yet.... Darn!!!!

Great pictures.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful blog. Hopefully spring will come some day! It is still pretty chilly here! We have had more cold this year than I can remember in a long time. I have no clue what the silver thing is?? You have us all stumped. Except for snapper who says it is the UFO he rode in last week???
Heaven help me!
