Coquina Beach

We walked the path back to our car and crossed the bridge to another faorite beach, only divided by a bridge.
My favorite part about Coquina Beach is the expanse of pine trees that surround the park entrance. Coquina is several miles long and has parking for hundreds of cars.

The pine trees close to the water’s edge and this makes a great place to get a break from the sun’s heat if you aren’t up for taking a dip in the water.

At Coquina Beach, you will find a great concession stands, a picnic and barbecue area, playgrounds, volleyball courts and lifeguards, making this a good place to bring the kids! There is also much beach far away from all this, which is where we like to be, away from the madding crowd.

Our quiet part of the beach has everything we need. Even the parking is beautiful there.

Benches for sitting, paths in the shade for biking/riding
and a squirrels eye view of a bench, or maybe a toddlers eye view
Last but not least is The Patience Bird, he ambles along, patiently waiting for his madly snapping wife to catch up. I stop to admire stumps and shells and things you will see tomorrow. He never saw any of them, his fisherman eyes are scanning for boats and fish and birds that fly over the water. To Each His Own!

Tommorow Things I found that were interesting on the beach.

I LOVE the Patience Bird comment!!!! Because Phil is like that. He'll drive me anywhere to snap, and stand or sit and sleep for hours while I shop. He loves stores with comfortable chairs, because he gets his best naps while I shop. We've even been known to swipe a chair from the dressing room for him to nap in. The bonus is, when he wakes up, he's too drowsy to notice how much money he's paying at the cash register! What a difference this beach is from that other iccky one, amazing being that they are so close!!! I had to click to see how close the big highway was. My favorite picture, I'm not sure of the order anymore, maybe the second. It's the overall view with the pretty blues. Can't wait to see your finds tomorrow!!! I know they will be great! I've never been to the beach except twice as a tiny girl, so you can't imagine how I like these posts!! You live in a place that is as foreign and unknown to me as Asia.

I like this series of photos very much. I love long sand beaches and blue endless water because that is something I cannot see every day in private but only once a year during my vacation.

Glad you both can be together and enjoy your own "cup of tea!" Marvelous. What a lovely place and I so wish I could be there today and walk/wander/click and escape the place I'm in today!

I can feel the sand between my toes. That is one thing I miss having moved from being near the ocean...those wonderful walks on the beach.
Wonderful pictures Sandra.

I would love to be walking along that beautiful beach right now, feeling the warm sun on my shoulders and sand between my toes.

Your Patience Bird is quite amazing and rare, I'll bet a lot of them would not have that much patience. Since my hubby is still a working man most of my excursions are just me and my camera.

This looks like a great beach to visit. I especially like the idea of shade from the hot sun. All of your photos are wonderful, including the last one of the Patience Bird!

What a beautiful beach, Sandra.... AND--rarely do you find shade trees and benches along beaches... That is SUPER... I'll bet that beach is crowded in summer though... Bet that is why you all enjoyed the "other" beach so much.... Sorry!

Thanks for sharing... I can't wait to see what all you took pictures of along the way... Since both George and I love taking pictures, we stay together when we hike... BUT--we don't like hiking with others since they just hike and don't stop and enjoy the scenery all around. We are SLOW!!!!

Have a great Wednesday.
Hugs,
Betsy

These beaches are beautiful..amazing this place offers so much. Many of our bathrooms are still closed (they use those portable out houses! Anyway, I liked your comment too about hubby! There is a difference (can't believe how I get fastened onto something and it winds up being just what you've discribed! Lovely series!

Looks and sounds as a perfect beach. Here it's rare along the coast to also find trees and shadow close to the beach, which can be a bit of a problem on a hot day.
