Mothers Day!

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn, Hundreds of bees in the purple clover, Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn, But only one mother the wide world over. – George Cooper

Photo from 1944, this is the way she looked the year I was  born.

In Memory of my mother, Lucille Overby McCall
1925-1990

My Maternal Grandmother, Mary Hale Overby

My paternal grandmother, Carrie Terrell McCall

Not everyone has a wonderful mother and there are many that do not celebrate Mothers Day because of this. If you are one of those, consider the ONE thing she did right, if nothing else.
Giving you life.

Psalm 139:13

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb

Happy Mother's Day, Sandra!!!! I especially like that last paragraph in your post. I had a wonderful mother--but not everyone did.

We're home from the beach --and I'll post in the morning. Had a wonderful time --but it's nice to be home.

One of my sons is visiting me on my 'special' day today!!!!!

Hope you have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sandra, their hair. They both have the exact same hairdo! Did you choose those pictures partly because of that? They are both beautiful, and I see your mother and your grandmother very much in you. I notice how prettily your mom is dressed and she's wearing the little cross for all to see. She was born just two years before my mom. But I love the one of your grandmother standing at the screen door with her apron on, she probably stood there just like that a whole lot. I tried to enlarge it, but no luck. Have you ever tried getting it professionaly blown up? But maybe you already have other close-ups. I wanted to hear more, but this is a great post. I had been hoping I might get to see your mom today.

I'm just getting started again this morning..visiting. I suppose doing a meme on a day like MDay maybe pushing things?
It is a very pretty quote/verse to a terrific tribute to your mother. It is true..many have memories, yet they are often mottled in a tangle of circumstances. I enjoy this and looking at the photos..love that image of your paternal grandmother! Gosh..looks so long ago and far away. Is that a pink Hydrangea up top? Gorgeous-
