Creation, A Gift from God

The natural world that God has made must not be used at whim:
We serve as stewards of His earth, responsible to Him. D. De Haan

To mistreat God's Creation, is to offend the Creator. we are to care for and guard God's creation as responsible stewards. Dennis Fisher

As Judy and I stood in awed wonder of the sun rising and painting everything in sight with this golden color, I felt peace and joy. As I looked through my photo's of the day, my heart started to ache.

My thoughts were of Alex the storm that is headed into our wonderful Gulf, and the oil waiting for the blender motion. And I knew in my heart that mankind has NOT been good stewards of God's Gift to us.

Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. and on the seventh day God ended his work which he had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Genesis 2:1-2

***************************
Then the Lord God took the MAN and put him in the garden of Eden to TEND AND KEEP IT. GENESIS 2: 15

Yes, you are correct... We humans have NOT been good stewards of our earth... I hope and pray that that storm goes WEST --and stays away from the Oil...

I often wonder with all of the strange and weird weather we have been having this year ---that Mother Nature is trying to tell us something...... Hmmm.. We had better get our act together--or who knows what will happen to our beautiful world.

Hugs,
Betsy

These photos are so calming with their ripples and reflections. Really enjoyed the butterfly photos for Saturday as well.

Too many of us take what the Lord has blessed us with for granted. We think it will always be as it has always been. This disaster in the Gulf is going to end up being more than just a disaster for our part of this country. Who knows when they will get it stopped. Why hasn't it already been stopped? I just can't understand it. You can build a oil well underwater and get it started, but you can't stop it?? Makes no sense to me. Every day when we pray we ask God to save us. He is the only one who can.

I love the verse you have with TEND and KEEP!! You know the quote that I posted - If man could reach the stars, he'd have ruined them as well. But I love the way you have been so concise with these thoughts and quotes and made this point in such a good way, and the pictures, too.

A perfect reminder to not take what God gives us for granted. Beautiful shots.

We have been very bad stewards of our earth. It may be too late to reverse the damage we have already caused but we can prevent further occurrences like the oil spill. I've walked the pristine beaches of the Gulf coast and it sickens me to think of them saturated with oil.
