That is such an iconic image.
I like the statue, just not sure if it needed to be so huge!

I always liked that picture, and this is real interesting. I wonder whatever happened to the sailor now!! I remember your previous post well!! Gone almost all day yesterday and babysitting today. I'll e-mail before the day ends!

Funny, my son got my attention last night with this! Amazing..I guess there was the picture of her sitting next. She lived a long time too!

Interesting, Sandra.... I wonder if the sailor is still alive... Wonder if either of them got any compensation for that photo... It's been in print for so many years!!!!! What JOY!!!!

Loved the big statue also... Didn't realize that it was THAT huge though..

Hugs,
Betsy

I've seen this picture many times, I didn't know about that huge statue, however. I vaguely remember reading that the sailor died a few years ago.

I saw that on the news too, it seems like the end of an era of sorts. I wasn't around yet when they kissed but I have seen this wonderful photo many times.

I think the statue is great but I am wondering why they made it so big. Either way my vote would be to keep it.
