Que Sera Sera

Que Sera, Sera, Whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours, to see. Que Sera, Sera

Are you asking yourself what does the title have to do with the pictures? do you remember my post Flight of The Buterfly from May 1st?

After I posted the story of the butterfly, my friend Holly who KNOWS all about B-flys, said your butterfly is a Gulf Fritillery, and she is pregnant and laying eggs on your passion plant. Don't rip it out, that is their host plant.

Here we are a month later and not 1 but 4 offspring have appeared. they are eating the plant at warp speed, devouring all leaves.

The answer to what does Que Sera Sera have to do with these photos IS: the host plant is in the path of the two dogs that own our yard. I was standing watching them devour leaves at an alarming rate, and  started singing Que Sera Sera. Hubby says "where did you come up with THAT?"

The answer is, there is not a very good chance these children will grow up to become beautiful butterflies. Jake the Dragon Slayer (short for lizard killer) lives here.

I do so much want this amazing birth to happen, watch.... Amazing

Just in case you have never heard the song, or want to hear it again, I am adding it.

PS: just in case you think you might be able to get a better shot than these, how are you at taking photos while standing on your head, the plant is 4 inches from the ground. You say Sit Down! to take the shot. If I did Hubby would have to rent a crane to get me UP.

Of course I remember the song, very catchy. My mom used to sing it, too! I haven't been able to get dowm on the ground or floor for years!! This is the most iccky, creepy thing! They start out just as ugly as they end up beautiful, but it really does give me the creeps. Looks almost like a centipede. I hope it doesn't give Jake a tummy ache, it looks pretty prickly! I think the pictures are great, and don't see anything wrong with them?? It's hard to get any kind of good shots of bugs and worms. Kilauea Poetry just told me her camera model, I think it may be easy, and I'm going to look for it.

I know the song, too!

How A-m-a-z-i-n-g is that to watch the birth of a butterfly. I so hope you get to see it!!

I've never seen a butterfly emerge - very interesting. Hope you get to see it in your yard.

In researching the Yucca, I came across several websites just dedicated to getting rid of the roots. They tell you how to do it. You can find out by Googling something like getting rid of yucca roots..

Once in the pupa stage how long before it becomes a butterfly? Will you take pics of that stage?

If that plant is that close to the ground, I am amazed you were able to get such good shots! Of course I remember the song, every word. I use to sing it all the time. I enjoyed hearing Doris sing it again. Keep snapping!

Hi Sandra, I hope they live ---and you get to see the births of beautiful butterflies. But---the dogs think it's their yard--to do whatever they wish in!!!!!!

I love that song ---and find myself singing it alot.... I loved Doris Day...

Thanks for a great post. Keep us posted on the future of your butterflies...

How's the pineapple doing? I see on your sidebar that he is doing GREAT...

Hugs,
Betsy

It's a mystery to me how you DID take those photos unless lying down on the ground. Must be your husband in the blurry background of the first one? I think the photos are excellent. I hope you do get to see the birth.

I remember the song and the movie.

I loved the video. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see a butterfly emerge? I hope these little guys survive to be beautiful.

I for one appreciate the contortions we sometimes have to go through to get a picture. I think you did a fine job with these. But then, Que Sera, Sera.
