Bark Art in the Park

God writes the gospel not in the Bible alone, but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars. ~Martin Luther

this trees story is 100 years old. (click to enlarge and study the story and art)

It is my opinion there is no better art than the art in bark, I love trees and the patterns

when I stand and gaze at His work, I find myself awestruck at His creation.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving: sing praise upon the harp unto our God. Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
Psalms 147: 7-8

That almost looks like a tree I saw in Lancaster, Pa. It was old and ruggedy and had a heart in it's bark. Nature is indeed amazing.

That weathered tree has withstood a lot - I think it is inspirational as well as beautiful. Great shot - attention to detail.

It's me again, after reading your comment on my Phun Phriday! post. Do you have Photoshop or Photoshop elements. If you do, that process is really quite simple. If you're interested let me know. I could do a post on how I did that.

You're right, old trees do have an artistic beauty in themselves. After my visit to that museum of wood sculptures though I can't help wondering a little what animals Uno would have seen "hidden" in that tree trunk...

I couldn't agree more..love the quotes and verse!! I just love trees and they are so symbolic of man as far as scriptures I think! They are rich with history. I used to climb our old umbrella tree in the front our house growing up! I loved it- A terrific post with a delightful series- many look like faces and eyes. I enjoy the roots and shadows too..hope you have a great weekend Sandra. (I still can't shake Ginny's fairy's on those glass balls from my head) wasn't that classic? (lol)-

Trees have seen so much history. There is a piece of redwood in The Natural History museum in London that pre dates the birth of christ. They have markers pointing to times in history such as the building of the pyramids and when Darwin wrote the Origin of Species, etc... Fascinating when you think about it see linkhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI1CIUqJc6s

This is a fantastic tree, just look at all of the patterns. I do see the heart!

I was at the park yesterday and guess what I took photos of? Yep, tree bark! Great minds do think alike. We really have to go on a photo safari together someday!
