Chair Chat

On the road to the Pier on Anna Maria Island, most of the homes had colorful chairs at the ready, waiting for someone to sit and chat.

“I had three chairs in my house: one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society”. Henry Daivd Thoreau

The Chair Joke
An eccentric philosophy professor gave a one question final exam after a semester dealing with a broad array of topics. The class was already seated and ready to go when the professor picked up his chair, plopped it on his desk and wrote on the board: "Using everything we have learned this semester, prove that this chair does not exist."

Fingers flew, erasers erased, notebooks were filled in furious fashion. Some students wrote over 30 pages in one hour attempting to refute the existence of the chair. One member of the class however, was up and finished in less than a minute

Weeks later when the grades were posted, the rest of the group wondered how he could have gotten an A when he had barely written anything at all. His answer consisted of two words:
"What chair"

“Nature is by and large to be found out of doors, a location where, it cannot be argued, there are never enough comfortable chairs.” Fred Lebowitz

What do you do when your chair breaks???

Well, that is a great collection of painted chairs. My first thought was of my deceased Aunt, who loved everything pink. She even had a pink car at one time. Pink, white and all pastels were her favorites. She loved soft feminine clothes that went well with her platinum hair and fair skin. She passed away about four years ago and i could immediately see her smiling face after looking at your chairs. I suppose that sounds very strange but, perhaps some of your other bloggers have similar reactions. Anyway, I like the chairs and what they represent very much. Janice

TOO COOL!! I love this, it's quirky, funny, interesting, and colorful!! I have been driving around taking pictures of the SAME chairs!! Yes, it's true, we are both very attracted to them!!! And now you have used up all the best chair material, ha ha!! More and more, chairs are my best friends, because wherever I am, I'm always looking for one (back and leg problems). BUT, much as I love looking at this style, if I ever got down into an adirondak chair, I'd never get out of it, they'd have to call the firemen!!

Oh how I wish I had the mind of the person who wrote "what chair?" At least the part of the mind that came up with that quick response! I probably would have wrote pages and pages!!

Love the images of the multi-colored chairs. I'd love to click something like that. I must keep my eye out!!

Granny saw some of those pastel colored chairs-and she bought spray paint and painted her old white ones-they turned out pretty good. Cute joke!

Thank you for your thoughts and concern! The gastro suggested a CT scan for a suspicious lesion on my liver? Also, because my pancreas couldn't be seen in the ultrasound..we won't say why (grin). Anyway, my husband and I started taking MMS a week ago (known to kill viruses and bacteria..that's where I stand rather than go for more testing -we decided at this time? Really appreciate you checking up on me like that..and your patience! Oh, here is my e-mail seven_amps@yahoo.com
Sorry it took me some time to get back..I've been literally on my back with some awful brain fog! Anyway- hugs, Regina-
