Day of Rest

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him. 1 corinthians 2:9
***

Lord, bid war's trumpet cease;
Fold the whole earth in peace.

~Oliver Wendell Holmes

the video is 4 minutes long, one of my favorites. the fiddle music at the end is worth the wait. In a hurry and want to hear the fiddle, drag it to 3:16

Great blog Sandra. that's one of my favorite songs. The violins at the end are well worth the listening.

I love that song. Every once in a while I play that as part of the prelude music when I play in church. Never fails to happen that someone will come up to me afterwards and tell me how much they loved that song played because it was the song played at their mother's funeral. Which makes me think...I don't mean to make people feel sad. It's just a beautiful song.

I love your picture of the swan bench, and the leaf edge on your header. The fiddle solo is mournful, in a way. I can picture it being played at a hillbilly funeral, with the fiddler on a hill overlooking the casket and family. I'm just sayin', it's evoctavive.

That's one of my favorite hymns from my southern baptist past.

Best,

This is a wonderful post. "In the Garden" is one of my mother's favorite hymns and I really like Brad Paisley.
I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday.

Hope your Sunday was restful. Maybe you got to spend some time sitting on that lovely bench. I really like the swans on the back.
