Florida Autumn Colors

Sunday morning at 5 after 7 AM, Jake and I stepped out into our back yard to wait on daybreak with enough light to chase tennis balls . I watch the sun come up each morning through a tiny space in our trees that surround the yard. My breathe caught in my throat and I thought run Sandra run.....

I slammed the sliding glass door back and almost knocked Hubby down as I raced inside, grabbed the camera off the kitchen table, raced down the hall and grabbed pants and shirt ( I was still in night attire and do not own a robe since we live in Florida, yes we do have privacy fence). I almost missed it trying to get my OLD legs into the pants at 90 MPH.

This is what greeted me from the double yellow line directly in front of our house. In order to SEE the sunrise I must Stand in the middle of our street.
see below for view of yellow lines I stood on as I backed down the street to catch my neighbors palm in the shot

These two are the same photo, see the Stop Sign and the Light Pole by our driveway  above photo

I removed the sign and post in above photo.
******
by noon on Sunday this is what we had for temps and the reason we have no autumn colors

The End (for now)

Beautiful. Thanks for getting dressed and standing in the middle of the road to get these photos. Things I have learned from this post that will make me a better photographer: Always put your clothes on as soon as you wake up and have someone direct traffic in case you have to stand in the middle of the street.

Best,
Bonnie

Beautiful sunrise, Sandra.

A week or two ago I was trying to rush out to get another rainbow view but by the time I got out it had disappeared...

You capture the most beautiful pictures! Thank you! However, the pic of how hot it was blew me away as it is in the low 40's here....

These sunrise pictures are stunning. I'm glad you got out there with camera to capture these gorgeous colors. Thanks for sharing these beauties with us.
By the way, you can keep the 100° temperatures down there!

You are just like me! I have almost hurt myself trying to speed up to get the camera!! But it was SO worth it, this is beautiful!! And I love the black sillhouette of the palm tree in the foreground. I love the parrot header, too. He makes a perfect header! I did not think the tree leaves turned color in Florida, because of the heat year round?

Beautiful! Do you use Photoshop? And do you know how to make thought bubbles?

Wow---love your sunrise pictures... Fabulous!!!!! I love the one with the palm tree in it....

I do NOT like your heat though... We are finally cool here --almost cool enough to put a fire in the fireplace at nights... Yeah!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Hey there,
Those photos are beautiful. Since I rarely am up before dawn, I miss the beautiful sunrises.

I'm having such a wonderful time here with Sue. She is the greatest.

amazing skies, love your new banner.

Just gorgeous! I read this weekend that the autumn colors on the trees, especially here in the mid-Atlantic, have more to do with the number of hours of daylight than the temps. It is always almost late November before we get even a touch of frost near the ocean, yet the trees turn before that.

Beautiful sunrise, Sandra. It was almost heaven up here in NW Florida this morning. We had a horrific thunderstorm this morning about 3:30 that lasted until about 6. It's been overcast all day but the temp never even made it to 80; that and a nice breeze has been wonderful. The rest of the week the nite time temps are supposed to be in the low 60's. Want me to send some your way!

What a beautiful sight to start the day. I'm glad you got these photos to share with us.

Although not as hot as your area it is in the eighties here today. We only have a slight touch of color in the trees so far.

Totally amazing sunrise Sandra. You are a confirmed photographer. You go through so much just to catch a shot. (:0)
You did a terrific photoshop job too.
I love having Bev here. We will be so sad when she leaves.

Oops, forgot to say that the temps were 103 today. So happy we have AC and a concrete tile roof. It keeps the house comfortable.

Absolutely beautiful. That is amazing and you captured it so well. We took many pictures of sunrises at the beach but none can compare to yours.

That was definitely spectacular sight and there is no wonder you run into the house to grab your camera. It made me laugh when I imagined you running around the house…as if I saw myself LOL I enjoyed reading your explanation about it. LOL
Your sunrise photos are absolutely wonderful.

Hi there Sandra..
What a nice surprise- so intense! The sky changes pretty fast so you have to hurry- I love the palm silhouette!

There should be a special club for people who do mad things to get a photo of a sunrise or sunset. I've read a few posts recently where someone rushed outside in their nightie to catch the sunrise. I would do that, except that here in Scotland it's a bit chilly!
