Search & Rescue

Yesterday's post on the Toad I rescued from our pool inspired me to share Our Search and Rescue Team and a few of the critters we have rescued.

Meet the Search & Rescue team that monitors our pool. Above is the Search/Photographer cum Net scooper (dog in photo above is NOT part of the search team since that requries movement)

below, if you can find him, is Jake, the Search part of the team. Jake hangs upside down over the water nosing up the critters for me to save. (note: Jake will devour if I am not quick on the net scooping)

Without any further ado, I give you photos of The Rescued. (there are many more, but I will spare you the rest of them)

Yes, we saved this snake and hubby saved a much bigger one. note I said HUBBY on the big one
Are you asking WHY  I would save the bugs?
because I have to
Tree frogs love what they think is a pond, but do not know chlorine water is not conductive to breathing.

My Favorite is the itty bitty teen weeny frogs the size of a dime or smaller.

The end and sorry for so many pictures at one time, I HAD TO DO IT

Sandra, these pictures are amazing!!! Hmmm...so I guess you will snap a bee if it's comatose? And the little snake, it will grow up to be a BIG snake!! You have a great macro for getting these, bugs are hard for me to snap. That light green beetle is almost pretty. Notice I said almost. But my favorite is the tree frog because of the little suckers on his toes!

I love frogs! Good photos. I remember when we first got our pool. We hadn't yet screened it in (we did that later so the cat would have a play pen.) The kids and I were in the pool and I looked over at the skimmer. Inside were about five little snakes wiggling around for all they were worth.

It looks as if the Search and Rescue Team has been very busy. These are wonderful macros of the rescued.

Great pictures! Such detail!! Yes, God made each of the creatures on this earth for one reason or another. I will kill a roach. We have to slap mosquitos and gnats here. We are fighting for our lives!! :-)

What a wonderful Search and Rescue Team down there in Sunny Florida.... Are you all starting a business in the community???? You could go from pool to pool saving all of the little critters... Wouldn't that be fun????? Of course, you can do it in your spare time ---when you are NOT blogging... ha ha

Hugs,
Betsy

You and Jake make a good team. Maybe someday I'll see you and Jake on a National Geographic Special.

love your critters but not the snakes so much! The frog is so amazingly tiny. Great fun post .

Those are some interesting critters you've rescued. That first bug though is mighty creepy looking.

Good job Sandra, and lets not forget Jake! I love the big rhino beetle and the tiny little toads.

What a hard working search & rescue team! All of the little critters are so cool. I see even the honey bees benefit from the services of your team.

Those little tree frogs are adorable and so is the little snake. Bugs are always neat to see.

Those close up photos are so fascinating, but I especially loved the pix of Jake wrapped around that stump or whatever, obviously on the job, intense and ready for a call to search. Your comment that revealed his REAL motive for searching gave me a great laugh for the day. Must admit the snake in hand photo made me do a little icky dance, and that was fairly difficult because I am sitting down! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such encouraging words!

Um - could ya put a warning about "snake" ahead??? ;o) I'm so glad it was a tiny one and not scary!!! ;o) Cute little toad...so glad you rescued him!

You know my comment totally disappeared! Well!! You have quite an assortment of critters..we do share a few quirks don't we! Rescuing comes natural..out of the mouths of our big bad dogs- or in my case- youngest cat.
Are these the same tree frogs (Caribbean) with the high pitch tone..hmm? One or two (kept me up last night) are almost worse than a chorus!
Funny, I've never gone out of my way to clobber a centipede..therefore, they don't try to sting me!!

These are so awesome - I LOVE that you have pictures of all of your victims. Er... patients. ;o) My favourites are the wee snake and the tiny frogs! You are such a great person to save all the little critters from your pool. I agree that it's the right thing to do! Plus... if you don't... you'll just find them with your toes at the BOTTOM of the pool. lol!
