All that glitters is not gold....

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.  J.R.R. Tolkien from The Lord of the Rings

Sculptures by Wes and Yolonda Prictchard in our local library

I rarely leave my house without a camera either in my pocket or in the car for the bigger one. Do you take your camera everywhere? do you Snap Shots of just about anything?

Incredible! I want to go wherever those are. When I was up in the back country last weekend there was a spot where we found a lot of rocks with iron pyrite in them.....or fool's gold. The sun was shining and those rocks just sparkled all over the hills. Too bad it wasn't the 'real stuff'. I would bet the real gold is still back into and under those hills. And anywhere for that matter.

Where's my shovel!

Beautiful sculpture, Sandra... Love that 'gold' glitter!!!!! We try to take our camera places we go--but I'll admit that I forget it ALOT... I need to get my old Point and Shoot in the car and leave it there!!!!! ha

Have a great Saturday.

very cool sculpture. I don't normally take my camera with me since it's a little bulky to carry around. I do always have my cell phone though in case there is a picture that must be taken. I really should get a small camera to fit in my purse.

Love, Love LOVE!!! Where are the golden mosaiced people?? From your tone, I'm thinking they caught you be surprise? Well, you KNOW my answer to your questions! I just got back from the grocery store, and it made my purse several pounds heavier.

Great photos! Snapper II carries his camera on the front seat of the car when we are riding in case he sees something to take a pic of. I do not take many pics. Keep snapping....

I try to take my camera, but too often I find I don't have it when I see something worth capturing in a photo. I guess old age is catching up with me.
I really like this sculpture and your pictures of it.

Sandra..I loved how you wove J.R. Tolkien's words through these FABULOUS images!! I had to sort of freeze it just to soak in the words..I really enjoyed this..I think the closer the better for these sculptures and the angles chose were perfect!

Sandra, I always have a camera near the kitchen window to capture birds at the feeders. Sadly, I don't always carry one in the car, but this week I put a backpack containing a notebook, pens & pencils and a small point & shoot camera IN the car, so I will be ready for unusual shots when out and about.
What camera(s) do you use?

What an amazing piece of artwork and I love that Tolkien quote.

Camera goes everywhere with me. It is always in my purse (I'm one of those who loves huge hobo type shoulder bags) when I leave the house. Maybe not the best thing for the camera but it keeps it handy. When I'm home it is always within reach.

Yep, take it everywhere. But I'm not as good as you are about remembering to capture the moment!
