Teeny Weeny Itty Bitty Grapefruit

Our Ruby Red Grapefruit, shown below, were picked on the 17th, we have been eating them since the first week of November. There are still a few in the top. The tree is 23 years old, and guess what?
HUBBY grew it from a ______!
Can you fill in the blank?
Did you fill in the blank with SEED? this tree came home in a wet paper towel in his shirt pocket
When Bob "green thumb" Hubby brought these in, he said come LOOK! (dangerous words to say to a MadSnapper)

There are thousands of these little itty bitty teeny weeny grapefruit pushing out of the flowers, getting ready for November.  can we all say WOW?

Because I could not get a good closeup in the shade of the tree, I picked a couple (gasp here at the waste)

Isn't this about the "cutest" grapefruit ever? a little bigger than a BB

See the flower coming out of the fruit Ginny and Phil?

Here are the things my hubby has grown from seeds (not these, I bought all but the grapefruit) but he has grown bananas and pineapple that we have eaten in the past and now we are waiting on the 45 to ripen.
Our Neighbors and their friends love our grapefruit, it is open for free picking

I've certainly never seen grapefruit at that stage before ;) I don't eat them actually because I'm allergic. But I'm very impressed with Bob's "green fingers", making everything grow and bear fruit...

That is one darn good producer. I wish I as a neighbour so as to have some ruby red grapefruit. They are my favourite for breakfast.

Great shots Sandra.
You could start your own farmers market.

Stop with the teasing! Anyway, who wants to have to go into their own backyard to pick grapefruit when they can easily pick it up at the grocery store? I think you have your own personal "Johnny Citrus Seed".

Best,
Bonnie

I've got orange trees out front with those same adorable little oranges. I never thought to take a picture of them. I should. :)

OK,I am almost drooling. All that fruit and to think your Hubby grew it from a seed.Wish I lived next door,of course you probably wouldn't like that, because I would be helping myself to fresh fruit daily.OK,I live way north of you and so your fruit is safe.

What a great post! I think you should take a photograph of your husbands GREEN THUMB. The grapefruits are lovely. Think you better keep him around...

How neat to see your little baby grapefruits! Except for satsuma oranges not much citrus does that well in the northern end of Florida.

This is WAY cool, I'm loving it!!! What is that tiny little tan colored stem sticking out of one but not the other?? Will these last you till November? Do you get to eat them all year round? Great pictures!!! If we lived by you, we would want some so bad. But we cannot eat anything with grapefruit or the juice because we are on statin drugs. Hey, does your whole yard smell like grapefruit?? Come to think of it, you grow so many things, lots of fruit and all, what DOES your yard smell like? Do you get delightful scented breezes wafting through your houise?

Your husband is cool.

I want to thank you for your sweet words over at Susan Etole's site regarding my 2 year old nephew's death.

So many people praying truly does lift the burden.

That has got to be one of the best things about living in Florida. Notice I said "one of the best things". I know there are many others.

I have never been a fan of grapefruit. I do think that the teeny tiny one is awesome though. He's grown pineapple too huh? Now that I absolutely love.

We have a Pomello our son grew..(very similar) but this one wasn't from seed. It's huge and I discovered the whit blossoms are heavenly smelling. A blogger from Malaysia said the leaves are cleansing (to bathe in)..I'm assuming this had to do with his post on marriage? I rarely eat acidy fruit..my parents would really enjoy grapefruit though.
This is neat he grew this valuable fruit you two can enjoy!! It means so much more when you can plant them yourself:)

All I can say is a great big yummm! It would be wonderful to grow all those tropical fruits. I don't think we are going to have much fruit again this year. The rain is playing havoc with everything.

Congratulations to Bob for being such a good provider...of fruits.
But looking at those beautiful fruits makes me think of the Creator. Who can look at that baby grapefruit and not believe in God!
