Make Do Cup FIFTY CENTS

In a previous post, I lamented the fact I broke my favorite coffee cup. Here is the Make Do I found in a thrift store for 50 cents but it was 20 percent off day, so I paid 43 cents.
Lots of creamer and one Saccharine Tablet, the way I like it

Curved Lip CHECK

Holds 8 oz. CHECK

Short and flat bottomed to prevent knock over spills CHECK

Handle will accept 2 fingers to prevent dropping and knock overs NOT... Still looking for my perfect cup, But this will Make Do until I find it.
Black, the way I don't like it
The 23rd Cup
Caffeine is my shepherd; I shall not doze.
It maketh me to wake in green pastures;
It leadeth me beyond the sleeping masses.
It restoreth my buzz.
It leadeth me in the paths of consciousness for its name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of addiction,
I'll fear no Equal for thou art with me;
Thy cream and thy flavorings they comfort me.
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez.
Thou anointest my days with vigor; my mug runneth over.
Surely flavor and aroma shall follow me all the days of my life
and I will dwell in the House of Maxwell forever.
Amen!

I almost fell off my chair laughing as I read the 23rd Cup. It pretty much sums up my coffee addiction.

That's a pretty nice looking cup but I'm like you with the handle, I want at least two fingers for a firm grip.

I'm glad you found a cup. I have a feeling it will soon become your favorite.

One of my favorite cuos was a thriftstore purchase, I think for about 35 cents. All the best to you on your continued quest for THE one!

Now you are back in addiction again! I have a number of favorite coffee cups so I'm o.k. unless I get really clumsy!

Best,
Bonnie

3:20Am - my goodness!

Well I like your new cup. And I use cream and nothing else. But I am sure like you - I NEED that first cup of coffee in the am to get started.

Liked the poem!

Well---I'm glad you don't have to give up your coffee while you look for the perfect cup...

My cup is larger with a larger handle (which I like). I can put 3 fingers around it for better control.... ha.... I also use Cremora (sugar free of course) and Splenda.

Glad you found a temporary replacement. Hope you find the 'real thing' soon.

Love the 23rd Cup... As you know I gave up caffeine. Can't tell the difference now..
Hugs,
Betsy

Well not bad for a Make Do cup. I bet many pay more for a paper mug that they just throw away after having drunk the coffee! ;)

Nice!! That is also what I look for, a big hole in the handle to get my fingers through!!! But I don't drink from a mug so small, mine are all either sixteen ounces or twelve ounces!! When they are that big, I don't have to fill them all the way up, again avoiding spills. And I can have a little extra, especially if I am drinking it along with something dry like a bagel. The Juan Valdez part of the poem just cracked me up!!!!

Hi Sandra, there's nothing like a great coffee cup to hold a great cup of coffee. We have our favorites too, and having just the right grip is sooo important. Grenville really liked the coffee psalm too as he's more addicted than myself. And loved the purple flower header - my favorite color!

Cheers..I was just looking at mugs online. I like the artsy ones and generally China..(oops), uh Ross carries them like (Cafe Arts) with prints by Degas or Monet..white is blinding but will do the trick (wink). I will go off an meditate on the verse (heh heh)

It looks the ideal cup for your addiction. I do't like coffee very much, I find it too bitter unless it is very weak with loads of sugar, so I stick to tea. We had loads of fun trying to order tea and coffee in USA. They just couldn't understand how we liked it. We like half strength cappuccino. In LA we worked out we had to ask for "one shot". In NYC we had to ask for "coffee wet" in the rest of the towns it was difficult. I asked for "white tea" the answer was we don't have that but we have black tea. "Okay I'll have black tea with milk". "Oh yes we have that". hee hee hee. Fun in different cultures.
