Happy Birthday Hubby

Tomorrow, Oct. 1, is my hubby's birthday, he will be exactly 3/4 of a Century old. He neither looks it or acts it. Above is my most favorite photo of him. In honor of his Birthday I am taking tomorrow off from post/comments. See you all on Sunday or maybe not until Monday.

We are not traveling, as you can see above in yesterdays photo, we live in paradise in our back yard.
Happy Birthday Bob, I love you.
Above was taken this morning in downtown, he went with me to the library. We rode on this Fake Harley!
NOT! we did NOT!  He wants a Real Harley, this is a Kawasaki wannabe Harley, the white Vue in the background is what we were in... POOR Man. No Harley!

PS... Bob and my friend Rich voted they did not like my new look, and since I was not "in love" with it, we are back to square one

The Truth IS

I am playing with manual focus and manual settings, trying to get one part sharp and the other blurred.

Pardon Me...Please

If I missed commenting on your blog yesterday, please excuse me. I spent FOUR HOURS reading the book and playing with my NEW Canon Rebel T1i and snapping 172 photos on every setting.

My coffee got cold.... my frustration levels went past a TEN....
I snapped everything on the table in several different modes, who know what but this proves I was BUSY
I did race outside to try a close up of a limb

an avacado the squirrels ate most of and dropped on the ground and my sweet Jake

The whole problem was/is the directions for the camera are in CHINESE....I will conquer the new buttons and get better, so if you miss me, you know what I am doing.

Color Me Playing #1

In my childhood, my mother would hand me a color book, scissors, glue and crayons and I would occupy myself for hours. That was Then. this is Now  and I have Photoshop and I can do the same thing, Color, Cut, Paste and no sticky fingers. FOR HOURS!

I am starting a series and as I play will post them under the label of Color Me Playing. In all three of these photos I removed the parrots from one photo and placed in another. The purple was NOT the color of the parrot in the first shot, he was bright blue and I colored him and did not stay in the lines

What's Up with White Out

I have a Canon Rebel XT that I purchased in April of 2006. It was my first and only DSLR and I have loved it to pieces. Two weeks ago it started whiting out photos at the beach. Blowing them out to solid white.

I removed the battery, which rebooted the camera, and it worked OK for a few shots, then back to white out.

Now it takes beautiful photos in shade or low light, indoors and outdoors, but anything that has sunlight on it, it blows to white. I reset  the camera to defaults, still does it.

the cost to send to Canon is 210 the cost to a camera repair to LOOK at it is 170 and the camera is five years old and has taken somewhere close to 100,000 photos... soooo

I have change ISO, White Balance, Aperture, Exposure, all of these and in the sun it will not take a photo.
anyone have an ideas?

Blue Skies Smiling

Photos taken at Beer Can Island, Longboat Key Florida
Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see

Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly

Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on         Irving Berlin
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3,7

Our catering manager lacks certain social skills -- like knowing when to keep her mouth shut. While discussing a baby christening party with a young couple, she told the mother, "You look like you've lost most of your pregnancy weight." "Thanks," came the clenched-teeth reply. "We adopted."

FMTSO- My Town Sepia

Downtown Bradenton  UPDATE from SuperPages.com on Bradentons History.
Located on the Manatee River, Bradenton is the seat of Manatee County in Florida. The area is believed to have been discovered by the Spanish conquistador Hernando de Soto, who landed at Shaw's Point in 1539 to begin his 4,000 mile search for El Dorado. However, the city takes its name from Dr. Joseph Braden, the sugarcane magnate who settled in the area in 1853. According to local legends, Braden's fort-like home and sugar mill served as a refuge for early settlers against frequent attacks from Native Americans.
This week Friday My Town Shoot Out, was choice of Sepia or Black and White. This is some of our local architecture that I admire.
