Friday Fence- Warnings

Some of you might remember the post about our local hospital and the battle to open a trauma center. Blake Hospital WON the battle and now there is one 2 miles from my front door and I love the sound of the helicopters saving lives.
Blake has declared the entire property smoke free. They removed all the smoking zones for visitors and employees.

This bright orange fence warns us there is still construction going on and NO SMOKING.

NOW I wonder, what will they do if someone Dares To Smoke in the parking lot? a whipping? a fine? your picture in the news paper? it just warns, but does not tell what the penalty will be. Since I am not a fan of being told what to do, I Thought About, trying it to see what would happen. Drat, I had no cigarettes or matches.
Actually a fence is somewhat of a warning. as in KEEP out.

Does a sign that tells you NOT to do something make you want to DO it? come on now, be truthful.
Join the fun at Friday Fences

Nice collection of fences. There must be a meme on just about every subject possible. I think that it is great to ban smoking everywhere except their own homes/gardens. The only signs I feel annoyed about are "Don't walk on the grass." and "No photography allowed".

I'm with Diane, the keep off the grass signs just make me want to take off my shoes and walk all over it. I'm glad to hear the hospital won the battle. I love to see helicopters cause I know they are doing good work.

That's great about the trauma center. I especially love the purple fence! Wishing you a happy Friday.

I could tell you had some spunk in you, I wonder what they would have done. I am glad to know that many are making areas smoke free. Its difficult to walk past someone smoking ( like leaving a dr office) and you have to walk past the smoke when you are sick already. The smoke only make one sicker. If people are going to smoke, do it in their homes or car.

LOVE the purple fence, that would not want to keep me out, I would want to see what is on the other side.

I love the last two decorative fences.Somehow they don't shout 'keep out',but rather look at how pretty I am.

The wooden fences speak "happy home" to me, I don't why because I'm sure there are many unhappy people living behind picket fences.

I tend to be obedient so can be easily persuaded by obey signs. My husband likes to "push the envelope, so sometimes convinces me to be bold. :)

Great news about the hospital! The no smoking wouldn't bother me because I've never been a smoker. But, I would imagine someone, somewhere at that hospital will try to get away with it. I'm with you on what will happen? A fine to pay???

If chocolate is involved...yes! LOL

Great fence pics Sandra!

I'm glad to hear that you now have a hospital close-by. I think I, too, would welcome the sound of helicopters arriving at a hospital.

Our local hospital has been smoke-free for a couple of years now. I don't know what the punishment is, but I haven't seen any smoking on the grounds (including the parking lot).

I like the white picket fence, but I am a white picket fence kinda gal. (o:

We don't have a Trauma Center here. Lucky you! But one is about 30 miles south, and helicopters fly people from here-to-there.

It's interesting, because only time we used to hear them, was when a convict had escaped somewhere, or some such.

Day One of having my Posts in my ears. So far, so good! :-)

Oh sure, I'm a REBEL!!! Do NOT want to be TOLD what to do or not do!!!

But I am glad for the smoking ban. Smoke bothers me, in my *Olden Years*. :-) Not that I ever really smoked myself. But EVERYTHING bothers my *olden* self it seems. Poor 'ol nose!!!!! -grin-

Any No Smoking sign is a relief to me (since smoke triggers my asthma). But 'no tobacco products on property' might be taking it one step too far. What do they do - search people at the entrance? ;)

Nice bunch of fence photos! I hear what you are saying about wanting to do something just because you are told not to. I also always feel guilty if a cop is following me even when I know I have done nothing wrong. Guess that's just being human.

A sign that says Wet Paint is so tempting to touch and see if it is really wet...
It will be interesting to see how they enforce the no smoking or tobacco ruling.
Wishing you and your wonderful Hubby the most healthy and happy new year.

Glad your hospital won, Sandra...

I love fences --because I like boundaries... Until we moved here, I always had a privacy fence around my backyard... I loved it---but we can't do it here.

Hugs,
Betsy

Is the third picture at the Artist's village? It looks like it. Just this year, our hospital went all smoke free on the whole property, too. I think that eventually they all will. Now you have me wondering. I am always at this hospital. If it isn't for me, it is because we visit so much. Do you dare me to go to the info desk and ask the penalty??? I really think I WILL!!! We do not have a trauma center here. The Pegasus helicopter has to fly in from the nearest big hospital and fly them away. I always get a shiver and feel so sad when I hear or see an ambulance or the helicopter, we saw a ambulance in front of a house in our neighborhood on Christmas eve. When will your trauma center be finished?

Yes, I am always tempted. I fully support the no smoking anywhere in a hospital, though I hope they have the resources to help some patient who is going through an enforced withdrawal.
The purple fence is a nice colour.

Don't fence me in...
But show me all the fences you have.
I love the last one with flowers on the white picket fence. So dry there, we have a sprinkling of rain going on now.
Neat that you joined Friday Fences.
I know you are retired, I am too,
And never have enough time in the day to do all I want to do. Especially now that I can walk and drive.
BIG PARTY tonight, hoping to dance.

Happy to hear the hospital won the battle...don't know how successful they will be keeping the smokers from lighting up outside. Nice fences shots...I love the last one...so pretty with lots of charm! I am better at obeying signs since I have aged...used to ignore them in my younger days..call me a rebel rouser!!!

I really love that last fence. I'd like to have a section or two and I know just where I'd put them. Can see it now with pretty flowers planted in front. Now if I can just talk Hubby into it!

Good to hear the hospital won. Fences are for climbing over when you're a kid and hate barriers. I head them now. My sense of adventure is limited because I'm less nimble. I see that plants have no regard for fences though some are used as fences. Happy New Year.

I have a bit of a rebellious streak in me so yes, something telling me NOT to do it makes me want to do it even more.
I love that last fence.

As in the No Shoes, No Shirt, No service...do you want to test it out???? Actually, always makes me wonder if you went in with just them and nothing else...
