Backyard Fun

I found a new plant....Hens and Chicks are in this little green pot, and a moss rose has taken up residence in the bottom of the dish, I did not put it there.
As I struggled to get these rain drops and curly cue on the fence, I looked at Hubby's bucket garden and said
"you might as well jerk that old pineapple out and put something else in the bucket, it has had it"
He put on gloves and went to jerk it out, and said

Look! come look!  it has a pineapple in the center.

Hubby left it there. If you CLICK HERE  here you will see what will happen to it.If you missed the story last year, go to labels on the side bar and look at Pineapple home grown

We did eat one off the other plant. since this one is 2 years old it was headed for the trash pile.
Did you know ferns are weeds in Florida and come up every where? these are coming up around the buckets and will be pulled up, but why Not Snap?

Why not indeed. What fun that you're getting another pineapple :) I do remember the last one!

Aw, another cute little pineapple, I enjoyed watching the last one grow up. I'm glad Bob looked before pulling it up.

I know ferns are weeds down your way but do you know how hard I work to get them to grow in my yard? Doesn't seem fair. :)

Very pretty photos, Sandra. I bought a pineapple earlier this week and we (and Harriet) have enjoyed it so much!

Love that term, Bucket Garden. Great shot of the water drops and the star in the pineapple. So when will it be ready to eat, this year?

I had no idea, so many things people purchase here are weeds in Fl. Ferns, Lantana...

I love it when unplanted seeds sprout up unexpectedly. Perhaps a little bird dropped a seed by your pot.

Ferns are weeds in Florida? Too funny. And we pay big bucks to buy them here in Canada. Haha!

Water dropletes! Delightful!!!

Hooray for the pineapple, "saving itself." -grin-

Ferns are weeds, in FL. Yeah, I suppose most any plant, can be considered a weed, in most any area.

I enjoy seeing the results of your fun in the backyard. You did a great job with the water drops.

Nothing holds you back! As sick as you are, you're still posting and I'm glad. :) But, take it easy too Sandra.
I really like the second pic. The pineapple is so cool. My neighbor and her boyfriend grew few of them. So cool to watch. :) I did have banana trees years ago and I did eat the bananas, but I ended up getting rid of them because of the spiders.
Bob has a terrific Bucket Garden!
Hubby says we need some buckets for your grandchildren to continue growing.:)

Your second picture with the drops and the curlicue is my favorite today. Doesn't your pineapple get fruit on it every year? Do you throw them away after a few years? My friend down the street has had a pineapple bush for many many years and it still gets pineapples, they bring it in the basement in the winter. You could try letting yours get dormant in the winter, even though it is still warm in Florida. That might lengthen it's life.

I have hen and chicks in a pot by my door.

In Borneo, we eat a fern, midin. Very nice, the joke is if you eat them, you will be come a millionaire.

We had hens and chicks in our yard when I was growing up. I always liked them.
Of course you would have to take pictures of the ferns before they got yanked. Ferns are another thing I've always liked and would probably have a hard time pulling them

I am surprised that a pineapple is a flower first. And a gorgeous flower too. AMAZING. I went back and looked it was pretty nice.

Love little hens and chickens. And yes, those ferns are such a nuisance and invasive at our house in Florida.

Wonder if a little birdie put that cute little plant in there like that? The hens and chicks look really good in that green pot! I tried to root a pineapple one time but for some reason ended up tossing it! lol We have wild ferns growing in the woods on our property. I think they are beautiful! I would try to incorporate them into a landscape and keep them.

Hope you are feeling better!
