Good, The Bad and The Ugly

TS Debbie was really bad, she messed up our state. the good thing is she has moved on and left our dried up ponds and lakes full once more.

The bad thing was part of the tree fell from the storm. The good this is it missed the neighbors house you see above.

The tree on the ground was ugly, the good was hubby LOVES his chainsaw.

The bad is I had to drag the pieces to the curb for pick up.
the good thing is, the city picks it up free of charge.

The bad thing was the storm took down 30 plus avacadoes. Above is the fallen fruit from Monday/Tuesday.
The good thing is, that 6 of the above fell on the roof from two stories up and sounded like Thunder but did no damage to the roof.

And one of the best things from 12 inches of rain is, when the sun came out, these butterflies and dragonflies were so damp they came and spread their wings right in front of my camera to dry out in the sun.

Enlarge to see the minuscule details that are so amazing on these see through wings.

The bad thing was, my hubby who lives in our yard and at the park with his RC planes, had a  bad case of cabin fever... the good thing was.....
we had about 20 episodes of American Pickers on our DVR. With Pickers and Tennis, HE was happy and MadSnapper was happy because the power did NOT go out and I could Snap and Play.

Pickers comes on the history channel and we LOVE IT.....

Good morning my friend. I'm glad to hear that Debbie didn't do more damage for you. It's scary when those bad weather fly by and destroy everything in their path. I love the pictures of the butterfly and dragonflies, so beautiful. Have never seen a pinkish dragonfly before, that was nice.
I have seen that show too on History channel over here.
Have a great and dry day...here it's pouring down. So I might be doing this while walking to work today...'I'm singing in the rain...I'm singing in the rain...what a glorious feeeeeling I'm haaaaappy again!' hehe
Big hugs

Eva

It looks like Bob didn't mind getting to fire up the chainsaw. The butterflies and dragonflies are so beautiful. Great shots of all those damp wings!

Hi Sandra, So sorry about the damage to one of your trees, and to your avocados. I am in communication with a friend who lives south of Jacksonville. Their flooding is just starting --with run-off from some of the rivers nearby... She is scared.

Hugs,
Betsy

Good Morning, Sandra. Sorry about the damage but thankful you are safe and did not lose power. We enjoy watching pickers, too! Your dragonfly pics are just super! Have a nice day.

I am glad your home did not receive damage...glad the storm has moved on. I do wish we had got rain from it.

Your butterfly and dragonfly shots are wonderful.

What a storm you (and the insects) had to weather! I don't suppose those avocados will ripen? I am going to have to check out the Pickers : )

Sometimes we have to take the bad and the ugly along with the good. I'm thankful we didn't have any damage except alot of limbs to clean up too.

Glad you made it through safely. My heart goes out to all those who suffered that awful flooding. WE were hoping to get some rain out of this storm but it veered too far east and we got nothing - just more hot days and dry skies!

Wow! You certainly have a pictorial history of this particular T. Storm. -sigh-

And you have a knack for not only the "snapping," but the cuteness of your descriptions.

Oh yes, 'The American Pickers'! Cool dudes. But... I can't watch 'em in re-runs. I mean, I can't ENJOY them in re-runs.

Actually there's not much, which I can ENJOY in reruns, but "Murder She Wrote."<---Just me.

I don't care if re-runs are on. But I just stick my nose in my book. :-)

Once again quite creative...but then we have come to expect that from the Mad Snapper!! TG TS Debbie is gone. I cannot imagine that much rain...I wish we could some how send some of that water to Colorado to help fight the fires.

We love American Pickers too!!

So glad the tree didn't cause damage or harm. Most guys enjoy the chainsaw, they're so funny! The butterflies and dragonflies chose the right spot to dry out. :) Fabulous photos of them!

Glad it is over for you, except the cleanup. Too bad some of that water can't be shared with the rest of the country.

Well Debbie did make one heck of a mess but I'm so glad that all the bad she did there was matched with some good. Those dragonfly wings are amazing and the butterflies are gorgeous.
I'm not familiar with American Pickers. I'll have to go see what it is now

You know what - you have proved my point here - you can decide to be negative or positive - it is a choice. And this was positively good. I love American Pickers too! Do you like Pawn Shop? sandie

I'm glad you were able to get so many good pictures from the bad and ugly things Debbie did to your state and yard.

Always something good even in the bad. Those butterflies and damsel flies are gorgeous.

You were fortunate to keep you power...I love the pickers show..it is addicting. The wings on the dragonfly is pure art...it is so nice your camera can capture it. I am going to follow your advice and post whatever on my daily blogging challenge..:)

Sandra, seems there was an equal amount of good news. The avocados will make a nice guacamole and add some salsa and chips and you will have a party and some burgers and hot dogs would be good too...see lots of good things! Glad to read that TS Debby didn't it your place too badly, except for those avocadoes bouncing off the rood. Never watched American Pickers as we don't have any TV services.

So sorry about all the damage- I know you are glad it is over.

We absolutely love American Pickers too. Its always recorded so we can watch it when we feel like it.
I'm glad you are ok from the awful storm that hit your State.
Avocado bombs could be really scary.
I like the way you talked about the negative followed by the positive.
One more day of Breakaway and we can relax until the next event at church. I sure haven't been on the computer much. Too tired when we get home.
But it is all worth it. At last weeks session over 300 kids made decisions for the Lord. (:0)

You are a positive THINKER!!
People like you ALWAYS land on their feet!
We were not really affected by Debbie.....just triple digits here in the DFW area.
Glad you did not suffer......much!

I'm so glad the storm has finally left your area and no trees fell on your house or your neighbors house! I love the picture of the dragonfly! That is just gorgeous to see one that close up. Such color and those wings! Wow! Incredible shots as always Sandra!

The dragonfly photos are wonderful! And the butterflies too. And the other ones tell the story of the storm. You could link this to the FMTSO theme of the week ;)
