I Shot The Moon

Looking west just before sunrise Sunday AM

I came in from early AM watching the sun come up to the East and the Moon dropping down to the West and poured my 3rd cup of coffee.
I yelled spoke loudly over the noise of recorded NASCAR (sounds like the cars are in the living room)

Sandra: "Do you want another cup of coffee?"
Bob: Yeah, if there's some left"

Well, DUHHHH! if there was none left would I be asking if he wanted another cup?

shooting East into the sunrise on full Zoom

shooting East with no zoom

Bob does this all the time. Saturday I said "Do you want to go out to lunch?" and his answer was
"yeah, do you want to?"     Another Duhhh. No, I don't want to go I just thought I would ask if you wanted to so I could say No I don't want to go out to lunch.

He SAYS I do the same thing, but I have strained my brain trying to think when I might have done something like this. He SAYS it is because I talk so much I can't remember what I said..... HUMPH

What beautiful photos and what a NORMAL conversation you your hubby have! Isn't that the way ALL couples talk?????

Beautiful shot of the moon - so clear.
I tried to capture it on Sunday evening, but the result was poor. Last night it was so low in the sky, big and bright.
I decided to just look at it for a while.

When I was a child growing up, for some reason the "I don't care" meant yes when asked if somebody wanted to go somewhere. As an adult and when I said that, it was always taken as an offending comment. Language can be strange.

Me, going out the back door: "This doorknob is really loose". My husband, going out the same door: "What doorknob"? Me, in exasperation: "The doorknob in the upstairs guestroom". DUH!!

Best,
Bonnie

Liked your capture of the moon right above the silhouetted palm fronds. I am worse than your hubby on my "duh"-type exchanges with my guy!

This is funny to read...I know I am not the only wife that has these kinds of conversations!

Ah- that's a big deja vu for me and mine. Only I think our roles are reversed...I'm always asking the dumb questions- I do not know why...

Bob sounds so darn sweet. He puts it right out there, but in a gentle way. He knows us women may talk a lot and forget what we say. What would happen if he got upset because you repeated yourself? I don't think this would be the case for him, and I don't even know him. Sandra, he sounds like a gentle gem!

I was *jealous,* when I read the post title! Knowing a moon shot was coming. :-)

Here, he asks me what I want for dinner? I tell him. Then he asks if I might like some other thing(s)? And I explode!

You asked! I said yes! What about Yes, isn't understandable???? -sigh-

Guess we all have our own version of this 'talk game.' -grin-

AND YOU SHOT THE MOON WITH YOUR USUAL MAD SNAPPER PURRFECT EYE.
LOL at your conversation with Bob...
sounds just a tad familiar at least the lunch part. I'm always up for a meal out.

You and Bob are SO funny! Love the moon shots!

Love that moon shot! I've noticed that my hubby and I have some weird conversations along those lines since he retired, often with this from him: "Speak up, will you!" I, of course, speak the same way I always did. Could it be all that loud rock and roll that did some damage here?

I like the way you shoot the moon. I also like your conversations with Bob. When your thoughts are added they remind me of Burns and Allen conversations.

Alas, I have to confess that Pat and I have the same conversation nearly every day. Both of us do it to each other. I guess it is a sign of growing old? That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Love you, Madeline

Sitting with tears in my eyes...you sound like my brother.

He gets so aggravated when he goes to a burger joint and tells them what he wants and they say do you want fries with that...I don't know if he has done it but he feels like saying, NO< IF I wanted fries with that, I would say I want fries...

Heidrun Khokhar, KleinsteMotte said...

I am always doing this. My kids get annoyed too. I think it's how I test to see who will join me. Dumb way to word it though. They suggest I say I'm going ... do you wish to join me? That is less vague to them.
I even feel hurt at times if I want to go but my dumb question gets no response.
