Lizards and Pine Cones, Oh My

Leonard Lizard is now about 7 inches long. I love him and he loves me.

Note: when  I say LOVE I don't mean I pick him up.

Our pine cones are small, about 3 inches long

It was 5 PM and 64 degrees, we saw Baby go over to the grill and poke her nose at something then jump back in fear.

I walked over and Buddy boy was on the ground to cold to move. He was hissing at Baby but could not run.

"Bob the Brave" picked Buddy Boy up and placed him in the sun on top of the pool timer to enjoy the sun with Leonard.

Lizard label below if you love lizards.

Bawhahhahaha "when I say LOVE I don't mean I pick him up". So I am guessing you don't snuggle up with them either.

Aw, come on Sandra, show some love for Leonard and give him a little pat. He is cute little fellow.

Your pine cones may be small but they sure are beautiful. I love that shot.

Nice to see Leonard again :) How long do lizards live? (I mean if they don't get eaten by other creatures)

Lovely little lizards.. I am glad your dog doesn't kill them.. Lizards love the sun, maybe you are going to have a mild winter?? Nature seems to know these things better than humans. And to have lizards still around, then maybe you are being told something?
We have skinks (small lizards with suction feet) running all over the house. They make a clicking sound and keep flies and spiders down.

Great shots. I like not only the lizard on the fence but the lichen too. It is such a crystal clear shot. They are graceful looking animals. We have clicking geckos too but they make a mess with their poohs all over the deck.

I remember we used to have lizards basking in the sun alongside the walls but I haven't seen one over here for years. Not that we don't get the sun I just think people generally don't keep garden like they used to, its all decking and stones for ease, shame because we need all the wildlife don't we?

I LOVE lizards! When I was in Bolivia for a year, I met a Gila Monster (??) on the pathway in the jungle. It was quite startling, since i'd never seen one before. It was as big as my GSD - or maybe bigger.

Great lizard pics! I won't ask what the yellow is on the wood in the first photo. lolo

OH MY DOGS it is no telling what I would do if I saw a lizard. One thing for sure I'd give it the Madi paw test. Mom says she thinks I invited this move. Any time I see anything new I raise my paw and gradually lower it while all the time getting closer to the object. Finally I give it a quick pat or two if it doesn't move or eat me then I toy with it for a while.

Great guys to photograph and I am sure I would, given the chance, but the friend part,I'm not so sure about. My granddaughter would be thrilled to hold one of those lizards.

I have a lizard friend named Sydney. He lives with my friend Rachael and is very, very old. He's a Bearded Dragon lizard and I cuddle with him whenever I see him. He's so sweet. I pick up our Fence lizards here when they are chased by the dogs. I carry them to the shed area where there are other lizards and they are safe from dogs anyway. Leonard is really big!

well I guess it's a good thing Jake wasn't the one by the grill or Buddy would have been a goner. I guess Bob is now the lizards hero for moving him to a warm spot.
There is quite a bit of difference in the size of those two.

The photo of the lizard on the fence is a really grand photo. I am not sure if we have lizards in Michigan...not sure I would react as lovingly. eek!!!
