Taking Charge of ME

Day four of cut back on computer time... It is now 9:35 and I have not commented on a single blog.
in the past I would be madly going through my reader, commenting on every post I saw.

Today I wiped enough dirt out of my window sills, that I thought I would have to use a wheel barrow to get it out of the house.

I dusted the furniture in the living room and found the color of the wood.,

Just so you know, leather sofas that dogs live on, are Not, Self Cleaning. I cleaned the sofas and decided we don't need new ones after all...

The big plus is? I was up moving around and stirring my blood and getting Exercise! I did 1 and 1/2 hour of comments and this post...

It is amazing how much life the computer consumes. Since being away, I do find I miss my blogger buddies but I am getting much needed stuff done.

As always, you sure have lovely settigns in your garden to photograph.

Hope your back is better and Baby.

Sandra, and you did all of this how early? Glad you are getting up and around and feeling better. Now, if I could only get the PC to do some of those household chores!

I'm not sure what I even did before computers. But I know one thing. Life is better with them. If I could only have had blogging when I was a new mother.

Pretty photos....so happy you are doing better

Beautiful photos. I'm glad to hear that you're doing so much better, and it is wise to do some cut backs on the time we spend online from time to time. Knowing myself spending my day looking at the screen all day at work, makes me not wanting to be on line as much when I get home. I try to read as many blogs as I can though. Have a great day!

You're an inspiration! I too need to limit my time on the computer, it can be addictive for me. Keep up the good work and enjoy your day!

Such a happy sight as we continue to get more snow. Glad you are feeling better.

It all rings true Sandra, when I have the courage not to go upstairs where the computer lives I do amazing thngs like cleaning and cooking and thoroughly enjoy it.
Why then don't I just switch the darn thing off and forget it?
Its like a drug, you know, just 5 mins more and then I'll go down.
Can't you see why all the kids just want to sit on computers.
Enjoy your freedom, you know its calling..lol

LOUD CLAPPING!!!!

Good for you!

You follow your own inner guide, on all of this!

Hehhhh, isn't that how we are supposed to be living life, all the time, anyway? How come it takes a bad back, etc., to make us notice????

My goal this year is to spend much less time on the computer--downsize stuff--simplify--and move more--(health going down because of it)---more important things have been neglected. Glad to see I have company. thanks

I love your photos. I had to say that first!

I am glad you are controlling yourself. I too was going to buy all new furniture once. Then I quit blogging for a while and cleaned and wow I like my stuff!

Today I am running through and commenting. But, I am just visiting my favorite buddies. My hubby will be here around 1pm and this house and me are a wreck!

Wow, today my baby is 42 years old...hard to believe! I am so glad I was only 6 when she was born!

Have a great day and here's a hug for you!

I've got a lot of that same kind of stuff to do today - lots! We leave on Saturday morning for TX and a young family is staying in our house. That's good incentive to clean. :-) My husband won't let me get leather furniture until we don't have any dogs or cats in the house...so I guess mocha brown overstuffed leather furniture (my dream) is not going to happen in my lifetime. :-(

The flowers are lovely! I like the green print which I can see so well and it's a relaxing colour too. Glad you're feeling better.

I don't mind so much if you don't comment on my posts, but I would hate to see you quit posting. I love the flowers, they are so cheery. Now don't overdo the cleaning. It might make me feel guilty.LOL

Oh my- I don't even want to think about dirty windows, but I do like your title- taking charge. It is so easy to lose time on these computers.

The first and last flowers are my favorites, I think the first is a Blanket flower. The last one I just love the pureness and simplicity. The effectiveness of your change is startlingly amazing!

Beautiful flowers! Re the dog hair on furniture: Oliver is only allowed on the sofa if both of us are watching something on t.v. and then only after a special cover is put on it. All three of our dalmatians never attempted to get on furniture otherwise. I seem to be able to get things done and still blog visit over coffee in the a.m.. I will admit that I have a weekly cleaning lady and that helps a lot. Still, there's much to do!!

Hope you are feeling better.

Best,
Bonnie

Hi There, I did notice your comment on some other blogs yesterday--so I was wondering whether you had cut back or not... Good for you!!!! You need to take care of Sandra first ---and then just go to the blogs you really enjoy.

Hugs,
Betsy

Good for you and I bet you have NO eye strain whatsoever.....lol I wish I had the ambition to do that kind of cleaning but when I have the time I just don't have the energy

Ah, moderation in all things is a good policy....even blogging and house cleaning!

You did it and you feel better. Moderation of everything.

Hey I think it is your and Bob's anniversary tomorrow - how many years? Congrats.

Yay, good for you!
I did three loads of laundry before 9am and then patted myself on the back for not being on the computer all morning. We might just start a new trend here in Blogville.

I love your flower shot. The first one is a Gaillardia, or Blanket flower. One of the few that you have that thrives here too.

I'm so glad you are feeling better, Sandra. Yes, it's amazing how much time blogging can take some days. I hate it when I'm away from my computer for a couple of days (my posts are usually on preset) and I have to struggle to catch up. Well, I love visiting other blogs but I hate that long list of emails. :)

My computer time has seriously dwindled since Tinybug came along! Your flower shots are beautiful!

I know what you mean about computer time it can get addictive... loved this comment 'wiped enough dirt out of my window sills, that I thought I would have to use a wheel barrow to get it out of the house..' lol, you made me smile... my son gave me a sign about 10 years ago which hangs in my kitchen, 'It's okay to notice the dust, it's part of my country look.' he.he.he

Congratulations on taking charge of 'Me'. We all need some 'Me' time every once in a while. Just don't spend all of your non-computer time doing housework.

Marie said...

Your flowers are so pretty! The first one is my favorite. :) I could dust something just about every other day! I don't know what it is, but I don't remember having this much dust before. I use to have one cleaning day a week, but not anymore.
I know what you mean about the couches. :)

Cheryl @ TFD said...

Good for you, Sandra, for taking charge! We all need to have some time for ourselves and getting things done beyond the computer. Take care!

It is important to keep a balance in life with what ever you do. I am tempted to get in the car and drive the back roads every day...but if I did it would not be so special anymore. I would lose some of the joy I get from it. I usually blog in the evening instead of watching the TV. I do not have as many followers that comment as you so it is easier for me to keep up. I enjoy reading the blogs...but I do not visit my real life friends everyday. LOL

Way to go. Now if you need a little more of that dirt removal exercising, you are welcomed to all our dirt here at our house!
