CD Archives - John's Pass

Drive 42 miles north and you will find John's Pass and the Redneck Riviera
Before we moved here, we lived 7 minutes from the pass and spent the first 4 years of our lives on Madeira Beach at John's pass.

Click to enlarge for more details.

If you have a set of salad bowls and they all say Cool Whip on the outside, you may be a redneck...
Jeff Foxworthy and a few more....

You might be a redneck:

If you believe you have a set of match luggage when you have two shopping bags from the same store.

If you think Sherlock Holmes is a housing project in Biloxi

If you think Taco Bell is the Mexican phone company.

BLOGGER STOLE OUR SLIDESHOW VIEWER... IT IS GONE GONE GONE... WAHHHH. YOU KNOW WHEN YOU CLICK TO ENLARGE AND THERE IS A SLIDE SHOW? GONE GONE GONE..WAHHHH

Glad you mentioned about the side bar, I thought I was going mad yesterday, I enlarged a picture and found the bar gone, what is going on?

I might be a redneck because this looks like a fun place to me.
I also have a set of salad bowls and matching luggage

I think your rednecks might be our scutters. Known for velour leisure suits, 64" TV's, appearing on Jerry Springer and jeremy Kyle, having children called Chelsey, Wayne & Ryan and most famously of all, the Council House Face Lift......

It's places like that that I would like to see in Florida. I've only been there once and it was when Epcot Center opened up. What I remember most is people. Must have been at least a trillion there that week.

I noticed that! It was called the 'side show viewer' hu....?

Yes, I noticed that when I clicked on 1 pic, in a post, it only showed me 1 pic. Where clicking on 1 pic, before... Allowed you to see all pics, posted in that entry.

Hmmmmmmm, remember my post on "Will Blogger Be Dead Too?"? Perhaps they will "kill" Blogger off, one snip at a time....

So, we keep our eyes peeled, for other *changes.*

And as I said, I have made an "Auntie sezzzzzz..." blog, on WordPress.

I think you can stop worrying about the MOJO. :-) Fun post! And I absolutely love that first photo. I'm sure there's a Mina bird just inside the door that will croak out, 'Warm, ain't it!' when you walk inside. And would I ever love to take a walk along the boardwalk in that second photo. sigh. Nice way to start the day - with glimpses of warmer climes.

My mother still has not forgiven me for throwing out 19 Cool Whip tubs about 10 years ago. I left 12 in her cupboard. I swear rednecks most own stock in Cool Whip. I keep trying to convince everyone that it has no food in it. It's just chemical ingredients. Same thing as Velveeta. You don't even have to refrigerate that stuff!

Woof! Woof! Mmmm the 1st photo looks like the place we've seen in Maui. LOVE your bunny's on your header. Did you draw that? Happy Weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

I like the eclectic look of the Redneck Riviera. Those colors are so typical of the old Florida style I remember. The west coast has so much to offer that the east doesn't have.

Fun post!! Love the redneck sayings. Sometimes I'm a redneck, and sometimes I'm not!!! Does traveling with matching Aldi bags count?

Hi, Well--as you know, I noticed the Blogger change in the slideshow also. SO upsetting... Oh Well--I just won't take time to enlarge photos much anymore.

Laughed outloud at Taco Bell being the Mexican Telephone Company.... FUNNY.

Betsy

It's been a number of years since I have been there. I think my next trip to Florida I will have to visit John's Pass. My Dad is North of there in Palm Harbor.

I didn't even know there was a "side show (slide)" so I guess I won't miss it.

That place looks like it would be a fun place to spend time. Those are awesome colorful photos!:)
I love Jeff Foxworthy! He was just on Shawn Hannity this week! He just cracks me up with the redneck jokes. :)

I noticed the missing slide show yesterday, but I was hoping it was just a temporary problem.

I think I would enjoy a stroll through the Redneck Riviera.

Inger said...

Oh, Sandra, I didn't know that rednecks had their own Riviera! I love the beach shacks and the atmosphere that comes out of your photos.

Ginny Hartzler said...

Yup, slideshow GONE!!!! But to me that is GOOD! If Blogger has to always have something wrong, this is the best one, think how much worse it could be!!! I love this place and the very cool painted chairs. WHAT is it?? Do they sell these quirky things, or is it a snack bar or something? You have absolute GEMS in your old folders.

Oh, I didn't notice the slide show was gone! Guess I have been too busy doing other stuff besides blogging. Now I need to check it out!

I think I qualify!

What a great place to visit.

That first image is so colorful.

That looks like a fun place to hangout and relax. It reminds me a little of a restaurant that I visited years ago in Mississippi, or maybe this is the one I'm remembering. Who knows!

I did notice the other night that the slideshow was missing from some blogs but it was on others. They must have been in the process of shutting it down. It still shows up under settings as Light Box.

That's a colorful place. But, then isn't Florida supposed to be colorful? :)
