Historical Church - Manatee Village

This church was built in 1887 and it took 2 years to build it. First used by Union Congregation, then later as Methodist-Episcopal Church South and is now in Manatee Historical Village and  available to rent for services and weddings.

I had to stand on the steps to get a shot of the steeple, and the front view I took through a glass window from inside the courthouse.

Joining Inspired Sunday, be sure to stop by and view other churches and join in to.

What a nice church - I love churches built with wood. And it looks very well taken care of too. Gorgeous pictures. We have very windy weather here today, so it calls for a day indoors I think. Enjoy your Sunday

a beautiful church. Looking at the last picture I'm betting that those air conditioners weren't part of the original construction...lol

Lovely old church. The moss dripping from the surrounding trees makes it even better.

Oh NOOO, standing on steps looking upward!! I cannot even look upward without steps!!! So does this church have a congregation, I am guessing NO since it is in the historical village. I have never seen one like it, and it kind of looks like one that in my mind the Pilgrims would build. PERFECT for Sunday, I LOVE it! HEY, it has FEET!!! Must be really watery there, had it been somewhere else, then moved?

You always find a way to find the spots from which you capture photos with outstanding composition. Never ordinary!

That's a beautiful old building. This is what a church should look like in my mind. Today they can have almost any shape at all. I know it is only a building and God can be worshipped everywhere, but I still like the looks of a church style building.

What a beautiful old church. It reminds me of the ones I used to see in Georgia. Some would be in small towns and others would be in the middle of nowhere. But they all shared similar architecture.

The porch swing below brings back a lot of memories for me. There was one on my grandmother's porch that I loved.
