Halloween 2013

Why didn't the skeleton go to the Halloween party? Because he had no BODY to go with..

Why didn't Dracula have any friends?    Because he was a pain in the neck.

Why did the vampires cancel their baseball game?   because they could not find their bats

Why wasn't there any food left after the monster party?  Because everyone was a goblin..

What did the mummy say to the detective?   let's wrap this case up....

Zebra Longwing Butterfly

Sunday around Noonish.. I saw the sun shining on the Papaya Plant Peeking over the fence. Grabbed the long lens on the Rebel, shot the above and thought Phooey. to bright. Turning to go in the house I spied the sun shining on the Palmetto Palm

and THERE HE WAS.. a madly flitting Zebra longwing butterfly. To fast to focus. I put the camera on sport mode and held down the button firing off 67 photos in 30 seconds.

and I did get a few good ones of him, deleted all but these to share. Florida sunshine and butterflies in October. Do you still have butterflies this time of the year in your area?

Perception -blah blah blah

Our backyard pool temp has dropped to 68 F/22C... brrrhhh...not for me, but the frogs don't care... they jump in and I have to rescue them, they can't swim because it's to cold.

The pool temp at the YMCA where we swim each morning, is kept at 84 F/28C year round.

When the outside temp is 92 the pool feels chilly, outside temp is 60 the pool is like warm silk. But it is still 84 degrees.

(I don't put my face in the water, now you see why, Bob has no idea what he is swimming away from and TOWARDS
OR that his wife was taking his photo)

The wind was blowing at 15 MPH, I say, oh this feels so good... A friend might say, I don't like this....
I don't care if it blows my hair around, she does care, so the same wind feels good to me and bad to her.... YADA YADA YADA BLAH BLAH BLAH

A Day Without Murphy

I had a glorious day with out Murphy's Law.. in fact it was a Negative Murphy's Law when anything good that could happen did happen.
School Stuff
My day started with a big plus, Bob had clear weather for 2 hours of flying radio control planes, and 2 hours of football plus another 3 hours of Drag Racing on the DVR.... this means I have 7 hours of Bob entertained which leaves me to......go shopping.

As the cashier swiped my new bathing suit, she said
"Do you have your ONE CARD? the answer was no, she said "if you get one today, you get 15 percent off your suit and every Monday you shop with 15 percent off your purchases"
Voila! I got 5 dollars off the suit...

Next Stop was CVS for Bob's Ultra Swim Shampoo that no one else carries.

Cashier says if you update your email address, it will add 20 percent discount to your CVS card with no expiration date...

I stopped at the other CVS  and got a 2nd bottle of expensive shampoo for 20 percent off...

BUT WAIT...There's MORE.....when I got home Bob says...

"we haven't had Gyros in a long time, why don't you go get them for lunch"

WOO HOO! this means we will be to full to eat dinner, so NO COOKING today.

Friday PHUN.. not my "phault"

I found the above photo today on Gail at The Farm... I gave her the mission to create something in PiZap with it and she bounced it back to me and said you do it, you have my permission.  OH YEAH!

I hesitated because I have a feeling you are all getting tired of my silliness in PiZap...

I next visited Ann at  Snap Edit Scrap and saw below her current post a post from 2009 .

"Don't ever let anyone tell you that silliness and playing is just for kids. I strongly believe that holding on to your inner child is what keeps you young and happy.. Ann
IF this is TRUE.... then I should be young and happy forever....

Since two people gave me permission to be silly.... I DID!!!!  can you guess what that word is in my creation???? answer after next creation.

Halloween spelled backwards is   Neewollah!

Oreo's and Olivia

Most of  you know I have an addictive personality. But I also  have a scandalous secret.
I am addicted to Oreo's. Do I eat them now? No, because if I eat one, I will devour the whole bag.  Sunday morning, Bob yelled down the hall, Come in here, you have to see this...He said Sanjay Gupta is about to talk about Oreo Addiction... REALLY? so mine is REAL?

In the interest of time, two well known doctors said Oreo's are addictive and that the rats they tested, went to the lever for more
Oreo's as many times as they did for cocaine.  It is the sugar/fat content.

All I know is now I know my addiction is real. It has to be, I saw it on CNN... right?

Which brings me to another Scandalous addiction... Do you know this woman?

She is Olivia Pope, in the hit series Scandal. I can't help myself. Hubby hates it and refuses to watch it. I adore Olivia and can't wait each week to see what happens next.

When you get into trouble- life-ruining, headline-making trouble - there is only one person to call... Olivia Pope. Olivia is a professional Fixer who makes problems go away before anyone even knows they exist. BUT.. she has a LOT of troubles of her OWN... we can list Olivia and Oreo's right up there with Photo shop and Picmonkey and Pizap... NOW YOU KNOW MY SCANDALOUS SECRET

Do you have an addiction to share?

Photo's 2004 - Before DSLR

Photo's 2004 - (before DSLR)

Time travel with me back a Long Way to the 1950's, for sure it was before digital cameras, and mothers little box Brownie took no photos of flowers, only rare photos of our family. The inspiration for this post is the fact I paid 6.95 for a watermelon.

My mothers family was from here where I live now, and most were farmers or citrus growers, fresh fruit and veggies were our common way of life.

In Savannah daddy grew all our food, but not watermelons, and we paid a dollar each for big water melons, we were always excited to come here to visit my grandmother because they were so cheap. Watermelons here were 2 and 3 for a dollar...

My grandmother had 3 mango trees, 2 kumquat trees, a lemon tree with lemons the size of a grapefruit, and wild cherries on bushes. her sister had a grove of 4 kinds of citrus. I thought I was in heaven with all that free fruit... we went home with the car loaded.

Mothers sister married a tomato farmer and he grew potatoes for Ruffles Chips in the summer and tomatoes in the winter... his sons still do that.

we never iced our watermelons, we ate them room temps and I still prefer mine that way. bob likes his cold.

we would take one out in the yard and daddy hacked it in big chunks and we dripped ate until it was gone.
