Yellow Jacket's Buffet

Dwarf Powder Puff bush is a bee/wasp/yellow jacket Magnet.... it hums with sound and I stay far away from it... I used my LONG lens to capture this colorful guy having breakfast at the Yellow Jacket Buffet

I know I am a red neck because when I went to the Dermatologist

to get my stitches out.

I walked up to the window and Said..

"Hi, I am Sandra H, I’m here to get my stitches out."

She went click click with her mouse and said,

"There you are, I have you down for Suture Removal, is that right?"

I said wanted to say,

" I JUST SAID I am here to get my Stitches out, what planet are

you from? "

"Suture removal?  Really?"

These are such pretty and clear photos. There was a yellow jacket nest in the large tree that fell in our yard. Finally, we got rid of them.

Love the stitches out story.

We're still getting butterflies and other insects flying around here, but I've noticed more nasty types of flying insect coming indoors as the weather gets chillier. Your bee/wasp I would keep well away from. Hope the appointment to get your stitches out goes/went well, Sandra.

Suture Removal!!!!!!! Same thing getting your stitches out! Nobody talks plain and simple anymore. Has to be la de da high tech! Well, it all means the same thing to me so we can talk how ever we want to talk. .....But I never thought of myself a REDNECK but maybe I am.

You pictures are so clear and beautiful! These particular flowers are gorgeous. Most of your flowers are unusual and so interesting to see.

To avoid a lawsuit they have to keep with the medical terms, we had to do it in our offic but I know what you mean. Good thing I did not get to plant those seeds you sent, I need to keep those bees away from me. Yellow Jackets are the only bees that sting me. the rest leave me alone. Great capture though, the colors are outstanding.

These are beautiful, Sandra. And, they have to use fancy words as much as possible to help justify how much they charge.

Love those little Puff Ball Flowers... Glad your Yellow Jackets are enjoying the buffet.

Language is so funny... These days especially with all of the 'politically correct' crap out there, it is getting more and more ridiculous.....

Hugs,
Betsy

Wow! When your blog came up, I had to check and make sure I had the right blog!!! So unlike you to show close ups of flying stingers! I do not think this is a yellow jacket, it looks like something even more dangerous, I think there is a stinger in it's butt. This is truly an amazing set of pictures. The flowers are beautiful, but of course the stinging flyer is the star of the show here, I cannot take my eyes off him. I may Google and try to identify it. GREAT JOB, it looks like you used MACRO! The doctor receptionist story is too funny. I think that they need a little translation pamphlet for everyone who comes in.

You speak my language, Sandra... I worked in dentistry for 18 years but I still never said "suture"!
Neat close-ups... that is one scary insect!

That wasp critter looks pretty scary to me. I think I would stay far away too.
Suture or stitches..it's all the same to me ouchie.....

Glad that procedure is over I'm sure.

Well some receptionists are really just programmed to say a couple of sentences. And I usually find them overly friendly. :)

Don't you wish everyone could speak Plain English?

A bush that attracts stinging insects can be scary but some of them are so beautiful too...like the Powder Puff bush.

Oh my word, was she blonde or just being a pain in the butt.

Nice shots..."bee" safe!!! I know its not a bee, but since we are talking "words" I thought I'd throw it out there! LOL

That little guy looks deadly. I'd stay away too. Awesome photos, Snapper!

I guess as long as the stinging visitors are busy and happy with those flowers all is well, but Yikes! Glad you used the telephoto.

we're tired of yellow jackets and wasp!
the stitches and suture is funny!

Didn't you just want to lean over the counter and tell her a thing or two? Good for you for saving it for the blog Next time you might consider doing it yourself. Great photos as always :)

Sweet Sandra, I just love your sense of humor and your blog. Had to giggle when I read the stitches vs. sutures. I guess they have to be "professional like" when speaking. lol Those pictures are absolutely amazing!!! You are a super photographer. Hugs

Amazing detail in that first photo. I was looking at this post earlier today on my phone, but I tend to get in trouble with comments made from the phone. (The other day I thought I was having login problems when trying to comment on another friend's post from the phone. When I went back on the computer it turned out I had managed to put in eleven identical comments! LOL So I've decided to give up phone-commenting... Just know that if I don't comment some days it does not necessarily mean that I haven't seen the post at all... ;)

Yellow Jackets are kind of pretty on the flowers but I avoid them too. Those blooms are gorgeous.

I'm with you on the stitches/sutures. I know they are sutures but if I say stitches to a receptionist I expect him/her to not sound so uppity.
