Pine Cone Devils and the Crafty MadSnapper

Each time the MadSnapper walks out on her deck  barefoot, there are loud Ouch! OUCH! Darn little Devils! and maybe a few other choice words...

The little devils sit up in the tree RIGHT OVER THE DECK. the tree is HUGE, it covers half the yard and if they sat anywhere else, the sharp thingys they nibble off of these would fall where I don't walk.

Above is what is left that falls to the ground with the sharp thingys. in a fit of Feeling Crafty caused by seeing all of you crafty bloggers CREATING, I picked up a few.

I laid them in a circle thinking Wreathe or some such nonsense.

I made little trees and added lights and even a flower, doubled them up and NADA! NOTHING!
the craft gene is not in my body.

I have a coffee can full of these left overs from the Devils Table.

if anyone has any ideas. or wants the cute left over pine cones, or wants the little devils, I think I can get a few them  in a coffee can to.
It seems I have about 13 coffee cans waiting for me to think of how to use them.

Oh how funny! Now that would be quite a surprise to open a coffee can and a squirrel jump out!!! I don't think you'll have many takers on that!

The first time I made something was a wreath I put on my my blog. It was the worse thing I attempted.
And you would laugh if your were with me. I collected all the cones big size and little. I got huge branches as you seen.Pine branches. Oh ya I was going to be this creative artist. Still laughing.

I started out so wll wit the cones all pretty. I was going to mail this thing to a friend in a pitzza box. It would not fit. So started to cut the branches as you see. Well I ended up cutting all the branches off to what you see. A mess. I hated to spoil the middle I so loved with the cones I did. I was proud of that. The bow I used was so stiff time I was finished yikes. So my laughing wreath is the worse craft for starters I did.I got the nerve to post it.Good for a laugh.

Then second idea I did a branch deco outside. I sprayed the branches silver . Christmas balls on it. My friend and I moved it. Set it up and all near the house. It looked nice when I plugged it in.Lit up pretty.

That night we had a snow storm and my beautiful made tree ended up across at my neighbours yard.

I leave those crafts to the experts.

So I know what your saying girl.

Those dang things can be a real pain in all respects. As walking on them. Picking them up. Ouch!

Have a crafter day and good luck.

Love your humor always.

Ouch. My feet hurt just thinking of you walking out in your bare feet.

I think you are quite crafty, Sandra. ;))

You are crafty, Sandra. Just look at the fun and crafty first shot.

Put them in a glass jar, add lights and your done :)

I like that first shot with the cartoon squirrel.Perhaps you've already done it, but what about playing with picmonkey? I can see some animal figures in those fir cones and even a squirrel's tail in the one not fully open.

Giggle... I know what you mean about not being crafty, I missed getting that gene too! Oh, well... giggle again!

Well, you had fun trying. I think you were onto something with the lights.

Ouch! They would not be fun to step on!
My crafting days are over. But I'm sure someone out there could whip those pine cones into something cute!

Those little trees are perfect, and I always love the glow of lights in object like these. Especially in the dark.

Owie!!! Those things are painful, I'm sure. What?! No craftiness at all? I don't believe that, Sandra. *giggle* (You take beautiful pictures, though!)

I Love squirrels! As if you didn't know. LOL
Okay, I love the starfish you made! And I would also make a wreath.:)
Have fun!

Just the thought of you going barefoot outside in December has got me turning green!

Debby@Just Breathe said...

I had no idea they devour them like that!

Chatty Crone said...

Are you saying that they have been eaten and left like that?

You are so funny! One looks like a star, appropriate for the holidays, I'd say. And I really like the little trees. What's wrong with them? Not being a crafty person myself, I have no ideas.

These are odd little things, almost like pine cones, but not quite. YES, I have an idea, I can see it now. Count four pictures down. Now, see the one with your Powder Puff flower in it? Well look at the one below it. Those two look EXACTLY like palm trees, baby ones! All you would have to to is dip the tops in some green paint or maybe spray the tops...something to make them green. and you would have the cutest mini baby palm trees!!

From looking at what you've done here, I can see that you have a crafty gene you just might not enjoy using it is all. I think these are very creative. I also see that Ginny and I think alike because I also thought that those on the bottom looked like little palm trees

You see...I think you are crafty in your own way. Every one likes something different. I may quilt but you are not interested in that. You may pic monkey but I could never do that like you do! Your portulaca was much better than mine and I love flowers. Your nook is always so crafty and beautiful every year at Christmas. You are so creative at the things you like!

MS DO YOU LAY AWAKE A NIGHT THINKING UP THESE MOST CREATIVE IDEAS OR DO THEY JUST POP IN YOUR HEAD?

You think your not creative? I disagree lol
I think I saw a starfish in that top right photo. (by the second photo) :) lol
You have baby palm trees for a Nativity.
I had a neighbor that would spray gold or silver paint on her pine cones then sprinkle them with glitter and use them for decoration's on her tree and packages.

They kind of look like chicken legs...I would not have a clue either on how to make them look festive. I am sure there are some bloggers who could do amazing things with them...perhaps you can donate them someplace...

nancy in nebraska uses them as fire starters, but i guess you don't need a fireplace or wood stove. :)

My idea of using them s to plop them in a bowl...case closed!...:)JP

There would have been a time in my life when I would have had all kinds of ideas to use these, but that ship has sailed. The crafty gene has left my body,it seems.

I like Ginny's idea of the palm trees since that's what I thought of when I saw your next to last photo. We have a lot of pine cones here too but I've never noticed the squirrels eating them.

I love the picture of the squirrel and the pine cone.

Well I still think you did better than I could have done :)

Fascinating creations !

And I thought Bob was the one who recycled EVERYTHING! Can't wait to see what you come up with. No crafty genes here either. All females in my and Hubby's extended families are super crafty. My role is appreciator. I am the only one of their relatives who is totally in awe of their abilities. My role is secure.

I have those cone munchers, too.

How about starting a business and selling as fire starters to folks in colder climes as Tex Wis Girl suggested.
