Memory of MEMORY wherefore art thou???

MY MEMORY, my memory,  Oh wherefore art thou???

I always have trouble remembering 3 things, faces, names and I can't remember what the 3rd thing is... Fred Allen

Last week Bob was mixing Crystal Lite in a 2 gallon jug. He opened the little package and dumped it in the round container the packages come in. NOT in the 2 gallon jug...

Also last week, I drove half way to the YMCA, at 5:17 in the dark and realized i did not have my shoes on... My question is, how could I back out of the garage, stop at not one but THREE four way stops and not realize I was barefoot until the 3rd stop. Yes, I did go back and get them.

When I got there I was sharing with my UNNAMED friend that I forgot my shoes. She said last week, she was cleaning radishes to put in a container in the fridge, and poured a glass of milk, the tried to screw the radish on then milk jug....

Any one want to admit what they have done lately?

Good Morning! Before the move, I placed the key to a drawer in the secretary in a "safe" place. The key is the ONLY thing we cannot find!!! No idea where I put it!

All the while, I thought you were going to say you couldn't remember what plant this is...is it an elephant ear?

Anyway, I've done things like this. But my sister told me one of HERS that I tend to not let her forget...

One Easter she colored eggs...hid them in the yard, when all was found/collected they went in to have hard boiled eggs for a snack...and they cracked 'em open....only to have RAW colored eggs. She forgot to cook them before coloring them.

Don't be too disappointed when I say I think these examples are absentmindedness rather than true memory loss!

That second leaf photo made me GASP! So gorgeous with the light coming through.

Yeah, I actually had forgotten that it was JUNE and wondered why my SIL was not teaching school the other day. We're stuck in early May weather, so that's my excuse. lol

You are too hilarious! My deal is, that I get up to go to another room to do some wonderful thing I thought of, and when I get there, I have no idea what I went there for.

Mom wants to share I madi am purrfect I never do anything odd.
Every night at 7 pm when mom goes in the bathroom to take her shower she has her bed room shoes in one hand and PJs in the other. Sometimes she drops the PJs on the floor and puts the bedroom shoes on the counter.

You're not alone! I think many of us around our age have developed some memory loss. Sometimes I forget to turn off the burner on the stove. Yikes! And the last thing I did was walk out my basement door to go outside and discovered when I went to the door to go back in that I'd locked the door without thinking. Thank goodness it was only a 45 minute wait until BG got home from work. And it was a nice day, so I just sat down in the patio chair and waited.

I went out without a bra. Yes, I came home immediately once I realized it was absent!

Join the club Sandra, we are always doing things like that but don't worry. I've decided that it doesn't matter as long as you can laugh about it.

I hate it when I go into another room to get something and can't remember why I am in there.
I have put plates in the fridge instead of the cupboard...why??I haven't a clue.

Laughing so hard I hardly paused to enjoy the beautiful green of the elephant ears and what is our old propane tank doing in your photo?

Thanks! I needed a dose of MadSnapper today. Good medicine, my friend!

Don't really want to have to admit it, but... Yesterday it was really hot here, and I wanted to get out a blade-less fan I bought last year for the bedroom. But the cord or adapter was not stored together with the fan itself. I could not find it in any logical place. I suspect that I threw it out earlier in the spring when I cleared out a drawer and got rid of some stuff to recycling... Not remembering what that adapter was for, and mistaking it for belonging to some older device that I'd already got rid of. As the adapter can't be bought separately (not anywhere near here anyway) I had to buy a whole new fan today...

I would....but I can't remember. And that is the truth.

LOL well, I hate to admit this and I have not told anyone until now...the other night I was wondering why the TV channels wouldn't change...it dawned on me after a few seconds I was trying to change them with the cell phone. You think of the coolest things to post about sweet Sandra. Hugs!

Deb said...

oh boy...those things happen here too...usually I'm looking for my phone...while i'm talking on it...wondering why I can't find it...duh...

This kind of thing happens to me all the time. I think that it's mainly due to trying to accomplish way more then I actually can in a day and just getting side-tracked from the task at hand.
