Caryota - Fish Tail Palm

If you were wondering what this is, it is one strand I pulled off of the pod below that our
Caryota or Fish Tail Palm has on it right now...

Previous Post on Fish Tail  scroll past today.

Below shows shows all the stages of the pods
The odd thing is, the squirrels love all the palm found berries but never touch these, neither do any of the other critters. The pods just go through the stages and fall off on the ground.

Embarrassing Moments

Saturday 7:30 AM at you know where.

New Hair spray found for my OLD hair. My hair is course and straight as a board and the glue hair spray I was using was killing my hair.

I found   "got 2 b rise n shine"
I LOVE IT... never saw it or heard of it.
It holds all day, put the shine back and is soft to the touch.
Just so you know!

Embarrassing Moment from 1975
I worked the desk for Sears Telephone Catalog... We sat in a row of desks with headsets on, madly taking Christmas orders.

I completed my call and said to Beverly sitting next to me

"Can you believe this woman just bought 12 of these ugly pink glasses" She leaned over and said............

"Oh, I have that set"..........................

The funny thing is, now I like pink and would love these and I have them in green...

Share an embarrassing moment with us please.

Village of the Arts Houses of Many Colors

Village of the Arts owners must have a Crayola Box the size of Texas because almost every house has been colored...

There is a lesson here in all the colors...

We should all take lessons from Crayons
Some are dull
Some are beautiful
Some are ugly
Some are bright
But they all manage to live together in one box...

MadSnappers box of crayons

Our Village is in trouble, I hope they manage to pull it back together.. I found an article in our newspaper of plans to further develop and restore the village HERE

A blogger friends pig, Wynonna went over the rainbow bridge. If you would like to see how she lived for 18 years read this Remembering the Porcine Princess

Good Fence Thursday - Crayon Colors

"Sunglow"

Village of the Arts looks like a Crayon Box exploded all over the houses. Even the fences are colorful.
I found a chart that list all 120 colors of crayons.. Check it out HERE and each fence is labeled with the color in the chart.

"electric lime"

The kindergarten class had settled down to its coloring books. Steve came up to the teacher's desk and said, "Miss Merc, I ain't got no crayons."

"Steve," Miss Merc said, "you mean," I don't have any crayons. We don't have any crayons. They don't have any crayons. Do you see what I'm getting at?"

"Not really," Steve said, "What happened to all them crayons?"

Found treasures

No, MadSnapper is not totally MAD... this IS a photo of towels in a bucket..

Hubby found this bucket and 15 white towels, 4 red washcloths sitting by the dumpster at the park where he fly's his RC. Maybe a car wash?

Would you take them home and use them?

I just love the towels. they are square 15 x 15 inches with all 4 edges bound and perfect for house cleaning... the bucket is great for washing windows or cars.

Our  pool side towels are Found Towels By Bob.... people leave them at the park, really nice towels...they hang them on trees, on the fence, or drop on the ground...they now hang in our back yard for the sun to bleach and eat.

In Loving Memory of Jimmy

In Memory of Sweet Jimmy

My heart goes out to Krista Funk in the Yukon Territory, author of the blog Picture Imperfect, she has asked me to pass on to you, her Sweet Jimmy has passed over the rainbow bridge. She is heart broken as is her cat Oreo. Jimmy was her sweet little yellow buddy for many years... this message is for the bloggers who remember her. Her blog is no longer active.

You will find Krista on FB by searching Krista Funk, Whitehorse, Yukon Territory or email me for her email address. I know she will appreciate hugs and condolences.

MadSnapper - Good Morning America

Each morning while I am commenting on all your wonderful blogs, I have Good Morning America running in the background.... that is how this whole post came about. It Seems BIG BUSHY Eyebrows are back IN..,..

I never knew they were OUT, but when I heard this I heaved a big sigh of relief (mine have never been plucked).

The doctors are oh so happy that the STARS have  "over plucked" their eye brows... see below complements of Google Images

I can't believe I did not know this!

OMG you have to try this. Google Images/stars without eyebrows...

Just so you know This is not Just A Tall Tale.

Now they are PAYING for Eyebrow Transplants...  Angelina paid $8000.00 for these.

THIS IS a LINK to watch the surgery.. I watched on TV and take this warning it is yucky.

After I studied all the STARS with NO eyebrows, I searched for Stars with Big eyebrows and through in  Messy Hair since both  are IN right now....

NOTE: I know this is true because I saw it with mine own eyes on TV...Plus I read it online.. did you doubt me?

In Google Images/ Stars with Big Eyebrows and found this lady who in IN because she has Messy Hair and Big Eyebrows...

Since she looks very much like Me... I had my hair and eyebrows done by PicMonkey and it did NOT cost  $8000.00

We are TWINS... Right? Right? except for the fact MY eyes are green and prettier than hers... I hope she sees this....

Village of the Arts 2014

Bob and I wandered down through Village of the Arts and found this old home that in my book wins Most Colorful in the Village. I love it..

The Village is in our downtown area and the Artists live and work in restored old homes...
I last visited Village of the Arts in 2011. Click here for Former post on the Village

Yes... TexWisGirl, I know it has a Fence for Thursday but trust me I have MORE fences than I can post. The village is full of them.

Words to Ponder...

Why are they called buildings when they are already finished? Shouldn't they be called builts?
Why are they called apartments, when they're all stuck together?

House Hunting with a bodyguard

I added sunlight to this pic in PicMonkey. It looked like the others below
This is the historical Covington House read about its History HERE

This grand old lady was in our news paper a few weeks ago. They are begging someone to save it and restore it. It is more than 100 years old. I have begged Bob for weeks to be my Bodyguard and go with me to see it and today the begging worked.
CLICK HERE to see Bodyguard and the cat

The light was wrong, shooting into the sun, but I managed a few shots. The reason he had to go with me, is the neighborhood is really bad and the reason no one is restoring it...

When cheese gets it's picture taken, what does it say?

NOTE:  I took 152 photos while we were out and about, we stopped in Village of the Arts.... LOOK OUT BLOGLAND

Pardon My Banana Pics-Again

See the ants? this is the flower that turns into a banana and it has sweet juice on it and the ants love it.
As you can tell from the abundance of pics, I love it tooooo

If horrific means to make horrible, does terrific mean to make terrible?

"I am." is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language.

Could it be that "I Do." is the longest sentence?

OOPS not a banana, this is a dwarf poinciana and got in the way of my camera

Good Fence Thursday - Bray Park

This is the field where my hubby flies his Radio Control Airplanes at

I found several different types all in one place.
About 50 feet to the left of this bench, way up high on a light pole is a nest with a family of Osprey

Some days the hawks and osprey sit on the fence below and watch and several times they have chased his planes. He is always very careful of them.
If I go with my camera they do not appear.

this might look like a lot of fencing for one place, but the park is 160 acres and is divided into softball, football, soccer, tennis courts, 3 pools and 2 dog parks. all that requires much fencing.
