Close Encounter..

There he sat, only 6 feet from my face, the close encounter with this cardinal had me holding my breath and when I breathed out he flew.

this is continued from yesterday post.. Yes We got Bananas

The cardinals are wary of us and I have never been this close to one.

He turned his back on me, just like Baby Girl.

He smiled at me... I know he did...

If you need a Good Laugh... Pop over to the 7MSN Ranch today. Bob and I rolled on the floor with laughter, plus we learned something we did not know.

I see him looking at you...he is the rare Vain Cardinal. They stay thin by not eating much and over-preening.

I don't think there is any bird prettier than the red cardinal. They are my favorite.

That's hilarious. I can just see you and Bob getting a great kick out of the key episode from your friend.
Cardinals are so beautiful. We don't have them here on the West Coast. I saw my first and only one when I visited my aunt in Minnesota many years ago. I love that bird so much I bought a Christmas Cardinal ornament and put it in a place of honor every year.

I am so envious of you having a cardinal so close by. I have been waiting for years for even one to show up at my bird feeders.

You got some great shots. The cardinals flee when I go near the window! Little stinkers. I suppose that ensures their survival, though. Nothing like being a bright red target out there in a sea of brown and black birds.

I love them too...such cheerfulness on wings!...:)JP

You got really up close and personal with this handsome fellow. I LOVE the first photo of the Cardinal, you should frame that one.

Like someone mentioned above, no cardinals here on the West Coast and I miss seeing them.

That's a fine looking fellow! We have a family of cardinals visiting our bird feeder. The dad has been getting close to us, too...it has surprised me as well. Tuesday, he was on a branch just a few feet over my head. Maybe he knows we are his friends since we are feeding him and his family! :-)
