Seal Tale...from the past

Created in PicMonkey from the photo at bottom of this post by MadSnapper

A few days ago, I found this POST on vintage planters at Cattails and mentioned my mother had one of these, that it was a seal... Mildred found it on Google and sent me the link. And there it was... Daddy's Christmas gift purchased at the last minute. The Seal horrified me, my mother LOVED it.

Mama and Daddy were soul mates... every gift he bought was the night before and always something like a blue chicken or a green seal..
Mother Truly loved all his gifts.
And now that I look back, I like this little Seal. Mothers name was Lucille and Daddy called her Cille all their years together. He bought it because it was her name. It sat in the kichen window for many years, the plant died, she used it for a pot scraper holder. For 20 years it was Daddy's shaving mug. He put all old soap in it and a big brush like this.

Great memories! I like the seal too--maybe not as a child though.

Best,

I love this post! What a wonderful relationship they had. And I like what you did with the photo in Picmonkey. Isn't it funny how we end up liking something we hadn't liked as kids.

A lovely photo of your Mom and Dad Sandra and also a neat effect in PicMonkey. The seal is a cute piece. I have a Mrs Pickwick Toby jug belonging to my mother. I never liked it much as a child but do now. I think my sister got Mr Pickwick.

Oh this was a touching and happy memory story as well. I like the ornament also. Your parents were so much like my Mother in-law and Father in-law dedicated to each other.

A very lovely couple your parents were.

You did a nice job at the Pic Monkey program.

These are really wonderful memories, and I am so glad you have a picture of it now. That must have evoked all kinds of emotions, I know it would for me. It does look like something a man would buy. My D.I.L.'s dad would only go shopping on Christmas eve. And he came home with all kinds of different stuff. Their picture is really beautiful, sowing all those years of love.

I love the story of the seal. LOVE the reason he bought it, love how it was used for so many purposes and truly treasured. :)
You look like your dad. :)

what a nice story and sweet memory. I don't have any good stories about my parents unless I were to tell about the fights :)

It's it funny how a comment or photo can trigger a memory. I think the little seal is adorable. That is a great photo of your parents.

I like your festive header. It's fun to play around with photos. The seal is cute, I don't recall ever seeing a seal planter.

What a sweet story about your parents. I'm glad your mother loved it. Mark bought me some last minute S&P shakers that I haven't embraced yet.
