Do you know what this is?

Do you know what this is?
Did it snow in Florida...

Last week, these ferns had grown to 4 and 5 feet tall, I yanked them all out of the ground to let them start over again.. they had taken over the bucket garden. The photo's up top are the roots of the ferns that grew close to our pool pump. they are covered in Diatomaceous Earth...  link provided if you want to know what it is made of.
We just call it pool dirt when we pay 20.00 for 25 pounds and it goes in the pool filter and we MUST have it...

Now YOU know it makes pretty snow crystals on roots.. also creates MadSnapper Fodder

Did you know....One out of four people in this country is mentally imbalanced. think of your three closest friends. If they seem OK, then YOU are the ONE...

Are you thinking of ME?? humm? are you????

Home Depot if you need it

Glad it's not snow, Sandra, as I am counting on spring heading its way north and not winter heading south. ;)

Love your "snowy fern".
You always amaze me. You can make something out of nothing.
I truly love how your mind works..
Have a super day Sandra.

Gosh I don't want to think that I am the unstable one, but I probably am. Have a great day!

Silly girl! You were probably thinking of that crazy women up in New York!!!!!! Love those ferns and it was time to cut them back anyways. I love ferns.

When we first put our pool in (in our last house) they talked us into the Diatomaceous Earth system but it didn't work out well for us and had to switch over to chlorine. That is very interesting that it is on the roots of your ferns.

It just looked like normal frost until I remembered where you lived. I always have a bag on hand here for mites on the goats or chickens if I need it. Great stuff.

It's also used to get rid of many garden pests. It seems like the crystals just cut them to pieces after they ingest this stuff.

Hmmm I think we are all a bit off balanced...pretty fern

How intersting. I thought it was some type of lichen.

As for unbalanced....I plead the 5th.

Well, it has to be the other 3, I know it's not me. lol! Wow, that many? That really is a disturbing thought.

I should have known that was from pool dirt. We used that in ours until Wade went out and bought a sand pump
No of course I wasn't thinking you were the mentally imbalance one. I knew it was me....lol

I didn't know what it was, but you may start a trend! ;)

It does look like snow or ice on a plant. Glad to hear it isn't. I have heard of Diatomaceous Earth, the food grade variety is good for killing fleas on pets or carpet.
