Memory...or Lack Thereof

Parlor Manatee Historical Village Cracker House

I am using this photo because it is OLD like my MEMORY and I find it impossible to create a post without including a photo.

My Lapse in Memory This Week ....

Tuesday morning, I carefully remembered to take my Debit card to the YMCA because the plan was to stop in Walmart and pick up TWO items that were on my list but did not come home with me on Saturday.
I forgot to lock the KIA at the YMCA, leaving said Debit card inside.
I put my  towel in locker at YMCA and started to the pool holding the BAG which should have been in the locker.
Left the YMCA and Right  towards home, not Left towards WM and had to turn around which caused us to be parked for 5 minutes behind a handicap bus that was loading a wheel chair.
I Came home and left wet suit and towel on counter NOT hanging outside to dry.
my morning  PLAN was CVS, Winn Dixie,  Dollar General and 40 dollars worth of gas in the Kia and visit Rich and find a bathing suit....

1st, the plan to leave at 9 went awry until 10 when Bob came home from the park and I surfaced from the computer running an hour late.
I did my list without my watch and rings since I left them on the bathroom counter .

Thursday am at 4, Bob comments... "coffee sure is weak today"
It seems I put water in the pot, set it on auto, put the filter in MINUS the coffee and we had a really nice pot of HOT WATER. I came home and had my cable bill in my email and went to pay on line and it was DOUBLE, seems I did not pay it last month.

Oh, dear! I do hope you got everything straightened out. Don't worry, you're not the only one that ever made 'hot water' in the coffee pot!

I have come to rely on sending myself emails from the calendar and reminders on my (4 year old) cell. It helps. Along with notes on the coffee table!

It sucks getting old.

Old? I say vintage sounds better :).
I could have done any one of these things and probably have at one time or another but I can't remember.

I can not talk, my memory is not the best either. I am not sure if I would like weak coffee, lol. My cable bill is paid automatically on my charge card and then I pay off the monthyly chg card bill. It seems to be easier for me that way. Have a happy weekend!

I usually don't remember what I forgot. I think it's better that way.

Best,

UH-OH! You must have too many things on your mind at the moment! I love your "weak coffee" story. I'm laughing and sharing the story with my husband. :))

Sounds like me. I do like this photo a lot.

You sound like me! Love the picture of the old cracker house. One of the old cracker houses that belonged to my extended family was recently moved to a historical park in Jacksonville Beach to be restored. I'm so glad it was saved!

I seem to be suffering more and more from the same malady. I won't even go into my mistakes of yesterday!

oh, dear. kinda scary when it all starts to run together like that.

I've done the coffee pot thing. lol I write myself a to do list and hubby a to do list for his days off or else we wouldn't remember everything. You're not alone...hope knowing this helps. :)

Oh my goodness! I've made hot water in the coffee pot before, so you're not alone on that one. I'll pour milk in Don's juice glass instead of on his cereal, etc. I don't really function well in the mornings until I've had a least one cup of coffee.

I have days like that.

Is cracker not an offensive term? Around here it rates with hillbilly.

After I read this, I called Phil into the room and read it to him. We both laughed. But seriously Sis, you have lifted a GREAT weight off my shoulders. I have been wondering if I have something like Alzheimer's. My memory is BAD. And then they found those white things in my brain. But now I see my memory is just normal for our age!! No more worry. Thanks a lot, now what is your bill...

Oh my, I can relate to this! It helps to be able to laugh at our forgetfulness and share with others who can appreciate it because of similar things happening to them. You are not alone!

Ah yes, the old memory game. My classic one is looking everywhere for my reading glasses, only to find them planted on my head two hours later!!!

Thanks for stopping by. Happy you liked my header shot. I put it together using Paint Shop Pro.

Oh, I should tell you about my morning the other morn...not so many things, but the one I thought I had lost my billfold...I was just literally almost sick for a few minutes...then guess what? It was in my back pocket.

I used to always carry it in my back pockett, but for a while now I have been carrying it in my front pocket. I had just lapsed back into an old habit and stuck it in the back.

Finally - you are becoming more like me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have an amazing memory . . . You remembered to post all the things you forgot and probably didn't leave a single one out. See what happens when you focus?

If only in life we could install more memory in our brains.Unfortunately that is not as simple as doing it in the computer.

Oh, I have lots of days like this! BG and I together can't keep track of things. I couldn't find my glasses one day and eventually discovered that they were on top of my head! lol! I'm thinking that it isn't going to get any better...drats!

By the comments it looks like many of us have had similar days. I use my mobile(cell( phone to help me remember stuff. Bill says it is because our brain is full to the brim and we can't delete the junk.

I don't make coffee very often as I don't drink it, but I have done the same thing with tea lots of times. I.e. forgotten to actually put tea in the filter before pouring the water... I too think we tend to make these kinds of mistakes when we are doing routine things but our minds are occupied with other thoughts, or tired.

Oh done that no coffee but water.

I can relate. There are days like this that I'd like to forget....so why can't we forget that instead of the things we do forget?

Oh my !!! Some days are just like that and I wish I had a magic wand to help you out.
