The Mothers Who Made Me.

My Mother  Lucille Overby McCall 1925-1990

All of my "mothers" were from the deep South, 2 from Georgia 2 from Flordia
Deep South, where the tea is sweet and the accent are sweeter. Summer starts in April, front porches are wide and word's are looonnggg. Macaroni and Cheese is a vegetable, pecan pie is a breakfast food, chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy.
Everyone is a "darlin" "honey" or "baby" and someone is ALWAYS getiin their heart blessed.

"Bless your heart for readin this"
My Maternal Grandmother
Alva Hale Overby 1900-1969

Helen McCall Kennedy 1908-1984
My Second Mother, Aunt Helen, my daddy's sister.
I lived next door to her most of my life and she was truly my second mother.

Carrie Terrell McCall 1886-1959

My Paternal Grandmother, she also lived next door and was yet another Mother to me
These are the Mothers from my growing up years, they have all gone to be with the Lord and are waiting there for me.
In Memory of All Four of them on Mothers Day
and to all mothers reading this today

Lovely tribute to those wonderful mothers in your life, Sandra. And they were so pretty. Love their smiles. That paternal grandfather looks like quite a dapper gentleman.

Wonderful, wonderful pictures! And you even have the very old one. This post is perfect in every way. And Oh the flowers trailing down the fence like purple silk. My favorite here is your wonderful, wonderful description of the south! You are at your best as a writer. You have summed up the best of the south in one short paragraph. Can I copy it and put it on our church prayer line sometime? I will give your name as the writer.
