Hibiscus Sista's

Twin Sisters
I checked my labels for Hibiscus and there are 52 former post that include these flowers. We have 8 bushes and every where I go they are THERE...
My label below says 52 but I am betting there are more than that.
do you have ONE thing you photograph over and over and over?

I am sad, we had 42 blooms like the one below, Night Blooming Cactus, and I did not see them until they were limp the next day...
I do realize I have thousands of photos from over the years, but missing that sight hurts my heart.
CLICK HERE to see the story of these blooms in former posts. HERE to see the 48 blooms we had only once in July 2013

Can you Imagine 42 of these giant blooms, they are 7 inches across the top
they always bloom in July/Aug/Sept not in June.

When I was a little girl, we used to visit my great grandmother. She had those beautiful night bloomers and we'd wait to see them at night. Nice memory!

Best,
Bonnie

These are so pretty and frilly and dainty. I'm a sucker for pink! Yes, I photograph the Shelby County Courthouse all the time. But not as much as you're talking about.

It does mess with your head and heart when you miss an opportunity like that. On the other hand your pink beauties are just fantastic!

Hello Sandra, your hibiscus is beautiful but the night bloomer is just gorgeous. I've never seen one in person. Lovely images. Have a happy Sunday and new week ahead!

You could never show me too many hibiscus blossoms, Sandra. They are such gorgeous flowers.

We have both but not nearly as beautiful as yours.

Marcy has the night blooming plant as a house plant and has only had it bloom once. She can't figure out what she's doing wrong. It's huge!

Such gorgeous blooms. I don't blame you for photographing them and I'm glad you do. We don't have anything like the cactus, especially. Of course, you know I photograph the cats all the time.

I feel you disappointment all the way up here..and I completely understand it.

as for something I photograph over and over, it would be easier to name stuff I don't photograph over and over. LOL

I guess Gibbs is what I photograph over and over right now. Both the hibiscus and the night blooming cactus are beautiful. I would love to see 42 of them all at once

You can't go wrong with bunch of hibiscus. I wish they survived our winters.

They are beautiful!!! I say - keep on snapping!!!!

Your anticipation is great so it's sad when you miss your first night blooming cactus flowering each season, but your other beautiful and abundant tropical flowers must make up for it. No wonder you love to snap them. For me it's the first rose that I get excited about and want to photograph as it changes colour from gold to a pale lemon shade. Each year there are many more buds and so more to photographs over these weeks of summer.

Oh, I share with you the disappointment over missing the full blooms. What a marvelous, beauty! The twins too. I love hibiscus. And my repeat photographs belong to my beloved furbabies. I know you're not surprised.
