Gift Wrapped Anole?

Yesterday while admiring a flower, I realized someone was staring at me. A male brown Anole that appeared to be wearing a rain slicker or maybe had been gift wrapped.... I have 16 Former Posts of our cute guys and in 30 years here have never seen a lizard losing its skin.

I watched in amazement as he rubbed his head back and forth, tearing off the skin. Per research, Anoles are the only lizards that shed in pieces and not leaving behind the whole skin.... below I cropped really close to show you the skin..  The other amazing thing is I manged to get these with my little pocket camera.

I WILL BE TAKING A FEW DAYS OFF TO CLEAN UP MY TWO COMPUTERS AND DO BACKUPS. I AM CONSIDERING DOWNLOADING WINDOWS 10 AND HAVE BEEN WARNED TO DO THIS... NOT SURE HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE..

How interesting to see the shedding skin. Good luck cleaning up your computer, doing backups and downloading Windows 10. Somehow that sounds like a LOT of work!

I didn't know they did that! We have lots of different lizards here and I've yet to see them shed their skin. Great catch!

Great photos Sandra. I never knew that lizards shed their skin the same as snakes do. Learned something new today. Enjoy your break and hope the download goes smoothly.

These are very cool and interesting shots. He does look like he has crawled into some plastic and can't get out.

Well isn't that fascinating. I feel kind of sorry for the poor little guy because that has to be really annoying having all that skin hanging there.
Have fun with your clean up and back up.

Snake skins often have a cellophane type appearance. We have anoles here but I've never seen one shed either.
