Cool! I am trying to figure out how to put this as a shortcut on my desktop so I can refer to it often.

Thanks.

Bryan saw an add stating Windows 10 was a free download for a year. I LOL'd
I said nope not free for us because the only way I'd do it is to let the
Geek Squad come to the house. No way am I trying it. I watched the IT guy at NCSU do downloads a lot and he was truly a guru. He had issues too there is always a glitch. Too many things have to be turned off or taken off before downloading NOPE not for me

Hello Sandra, thanks for the keyboard shortcuts. Some I already knew and some are new to me. Windows 10 update is scary. I heard the update can be good or bad depending on if you had windows 7 or 8 . I am sure they will be doing a lot of fixes and patches. Enjoy your day!

I am scared to do anything with uploading Windows even 7 let alone 10. My computer is okay now running fine. So I dare not touch anything. Good luck Sandra if you try.

And my friend said it is only for a year 10 then they charge.

Your savvy Sandra but if you want to take a chance' You said you read it was not for a year only free but permanently. Once you load up. Then that would be really good. I hear it is better then 7 and 8. As those two were hard to adjust with. People complained also with key bards and language with French on key board. That would scare me.

Have a great day Sandra.

I'm still getting used to 7 which was on the laptop I've switched to since my other computer crashed. I've never uploaded an OS, just always waiting for whatever happens to be installed on my next computer. I use most of those keyboard shortcuts but some were new, especially the double and triple click for highlighting Thanks.

I know and use some of these, but did not know several others. Thanks!! I'm surprised you are cautious about Windows 10. I thought you jumped into all new techno stuff. :-)). Have a good Thursday.

All these years and I've never used shortcuts other than CTRL-DEL-ALT when something is stuck. I know that one person I follow said it took 10 hours for her Windows 10 to download.

Ewgh, Sandra. I've had my invite for days now and keep rescheduling. I have son and DIL here tonight and will ask them to see me safely through. Apparently it's going to be a good thing... Mmm Will let you know tomorrow, if I have a computer left! LOL!

I've been using most of these for as long as I can remember, but ctrl + F was new to me I think and I tend to forget about the F-keys as well. I've not downloaded Windows 10. I asked my brother about it and he suggested I wait a while, after all it's going to be free for a year... So I did not sign up for it yet.

Ctrl s and z I use the rest I never think of. I didn't know about double click and triple click to highlight. Very cool

I've been scared to do it, too. I think I'll ponder on it awhile!

My brother did Win 10 and it even fixed something that wasn't working before....however, another friend cannot get her computer to download pics from her camera since installing Win 10.

My grandson installed windows 10 on his two year old computer. It has so many cliches. We brought it in and they want $170 to take it back to 8 OR now get this - he can wait until Windows 10 fixes the cliches and they can update his computer.

I'm on a Mac. Last spring I downloaded Yosemite, which turned out to be really easy to learn. BUT my computer does turn on slower now...or maybe it's just my imagination.

I just updated hubby from XP to 8.1 Windows and that was huge!! Not easy for me and very hard for him.
I am a Mac user who just updated to Yosemite recently and in September the newest version for Macs will appear. For us elderly these changes come so fast I wonder how we can stay safe? Password hell is my worste nightmare since I get to be in charge of three folks' all because they can't recall them.

Yes, Sandra, I have also received an invite to upgrade to Windows 10 but plan to bypass it. My older deaktop is running fine with an older version and Inplan to replace it within 6 months so see no need to upgrade. I just wish I could get rid of the notification uodate so that I don't accidentally click on it. I have read some good things about the next version.
