El Diablo Squirrel and ME

El Diablo the squirrel took a break from gnawing on and knocking down our avocados. He waited while I retrieved the Nikon from the kitchen table.  I could have taken more but they would all be the same. He Just Sat There Staring at me.

I will be sporadic in posting and commenting for a while. My heart is just not in blogging. I prefer to be upbeat and humorous and right now my humor mojo is not working very well. You can tell, nothing stops me from aiming my camera.  NOTE: if i have made any negative comments the past week or so, please forgive me and consider my state of mind.

I am in constant pain with my leg/hip and have no idea what is is and will be having tests and running from doctor to doctor. Our beloved Baby girl is not doing well with her ear tumor that maybe cancer and we are in waiting mode. My baby brother, David age 67, has been diagnosed with Amyloidosis  and Myeloma  .

He is in early stages, but the treatment is 4 weeks in the hospital in isolation, they will remove the bone marrow and stem cells and treat him with chemo, them put the marrow and cells back. There is no cure for this disease that hits 1 in 1 million people.  He is waiting for an MRI to check his heart. if the disease is in the heart there can be no treatment. we are in waiting mode for him to.

Sandra I am so sorry to hear about your brother. I have added him to my prayer list, and you and Bob and baby girl also. I hope the docs can figure out what is wrong with your leg..It is a simplistic suggestion, but I have been using aspercreme on both of my knees lately and it seems to help a little. Maybe you could get a script for the more potent lidocaine cream...my mom uses that for her heel pain. Post when you can...and I hope you feel better soon.

OH MS I'm so sorry your leg hip is acting up again. I hope and pray you get an answer soon. I know how you feel one day mine acts up some times more than others my biggest issue of late is my neck. I think it is a combo of looking down at books when I read (I'm doing a lot of that and at my iPad). I'm using a pillow now...a few months too late. And my new fragrance that you can probably smell from Florida is essence of SalonPas.

I'm sending you so many thoughts and prayers for your baby brother.

Hugs Cecilia and Madi

You certainly have a few reasons to be feeling low, Sandra. I hope you find what's bothering your hip and leg so you can find relief. And Baby and your brother need tons of prayer as well.

You've got a lot on your plate right now to cause an interference in your usual jovial mojo. Good luck with all these setbacks in your life and we'll still be here ready to smile with you on your return.

Sandra, first let me say that I shall miss you so much if you stop blogging, you are one of my first go to posts and your photos are beautiful.
But, I understand how you feel, life deals us some horrible blows and they usually come in battalions and not singly.
I do hope you can get your hip sorted out soon as there is nothing so miserable as a painful hip, mine plays me up some times and its a job not to walk like an old lady, ( After all I'm only 69. lol).
As for your Brother, do not despair, I have a cousin with the same complaint and she has had the same isolation treatment in London, she is now so well and living a normal life.
I know its not like you to be down, so I am going to wait patiently for you to re appear as your cheerful self when things calm down.
lots and lots of love
Briony

So sorry to hear that. Pain is a mood-killer and so is waiting for news, whether concerning one's own health and that of people close to us. Lots of hugs to you!!! You do right to hold on tight to the camera though, I have often found the camera a great help to focus on "something else" for a while! :)

I'm so sorry for all that you are dealing with Sandra - and Jake and your brother - combined with your pain it is understandable you need to invoke self care. I applaud you for that and from the comments it looks like you are getting tons of support to rest, blog when you can and write whatever you need to, whenever you want. You are loved and in my prayers along with Jake, your brother and Bob. One day at a time, my friend. ODAT. Big hugZ, db&n

I have all of you on my mind, in my heart and prayers. I can't stand thinking of what your brother has to go through.
this little squirrel is a female and she looks pregnant. our mama squirrel in Orlando had a notch on one here like this little girl, so we always knew who she was then she became a permanent resident of our backyard. Kyle and I helped her during a hurricane one year while she was moving her babies to another nest. :) it was an amazing experience. God's creatures are Awesome!
