Blackberries Justified...

At heart I am a died-in-the-wool tightwad (cheapskate, penny pincher, miser, scrooge).

I stood looking at the box of Black Berries all the way from Guatemala on my Saturday AM weekly shopping trip. I put them in the basket returned them to the display, TWICE.

After I unpacked them, I opened the box and started to count them. Hubby watched from the breakfast bar with his eyebrows raised when I reached for the calculator.

"Just how much did you pay for those berries?"

"Why do you ask?" she says

My fingers danced on the calculator and I replied
"9 cents each"
there were 42 of them and I paid 3.78 for the box. (they did come a long way from home, probably charged for shipping)
hubbies eyebrows went higher...
 and he said
"What?!!!"
(did I mention we share tightwadism)

NOTE: the original post was from 2010, now that little berry cost 13 cents each

Everything turned out fine, I remembered the next day was my birthday and reached in the drawer and
"voila, a birthday cake with no fat" and my blackberries are justified.

Sunrise from back yard

We live in a jungle, the sunrise is amazing almost every morning, I try and try to get a photo through the trees and wires.

Even though these are not clear and sharp, I love them..... what I captured through the leaves, shooting into the fiery sun.

Laugh with me NOW... this was the MOON going down that same morning, and can you tell my camera SLIPPED?

Meandering Mind of the MadSnapper

I took a selfie with my Nikon 610 Just to show you what Thanksgiving Day looks like in Florida...No snow, No Cold but a warm beautiful 80 degrees... That said I have a few questions that meandered through my mind...

1. Why are all the Christmas and Thanksgiving Holidays in PicMonkey and Pizap full of only snow, and ice and COLD weather thingy's... Where are the palm trees, where are the beaches?
Half the world is not cold and has no snow at Christmas, CLICK HERE
to find a warm Christmas. Drag mouse over the country to find them or just Pop over to Hawaii or Florida

2.  How can I break my whole thumbnail off while reading emails on my laptop IN BED?

3. Why does my mouse have a mind of its own and constantly slide to touch something that causes something else to happen?

4. In movies and in books, why are all the female Police officers, Sheriff deputies, FBI, CIA agents described as voluptuous, vibrant, enchanting, captivating and stunning.

Top Row.. FBI and CIA in movies.
Bottom: The Way they Really Look...
I could not find a photo of a Real Life FBI or CIA female agent, but the men are the same way
The real Elliot Ness, The movie Elliot Ness.
I rest my case.

Thank You Lord, for your blessings on me..

The MRI is OVER, I did not freak out, I did not cry and did not squeeze the panic button in my hand.

Thank you for Your prayers and for your caring comments and emails. My prayers helped me through it. The only problem I had was staying still for the last 10 minutes. The Nerve starting Zinging and I asked if I could adjust my knee, she said if you do, we have to start over. It Zinged, I prayed. I prayed for God to help me stay still, it did not change the pain, but I did not move. For 10 minutes I prayed for all of you that are in bad times....and for those of you who have lost loved ones.. I will get the results on Dec. 4th.
There is food on my table, and shoes on my feet, there's a roof over me..
What more do we need?

Pillow Talk

Bob: When I was drag racing, back in the 50's, cars only had a yada yada blah blah HP and Jimmy whatever his name Yada yada...put a new head gasket blah blah...5 transmission yada yad

Sandra: Who's Jimmy?

Sandra: Michele, the one with the dog Goose that died, got a new dog, his name is Buddy. yada yada and his best friend is Bert blah blah yesterday Buddy chased Bert . blah blah

Bob: Who;s Michele?

Bob can name all the drivers and their mechanics of every car in NHRA drag racing and NASCAR racing.
(and does name them all, over and over and describe who did what to what)

I can name a dozen bloggers pets names and some I can name their chickens, goats, pigs and a few donkeys and horses... (and do, but i know he is not listening)

Then WHY can't either one of us remember to take the debit card with us to the YMCA so we can stop at Walmart on the way home and get pool supplies? Or what our next door neighbors name is.... Can anyone tell me why??????

Good News -

Above is the orginial photo, the 2 below have been PicMonkeyed by yours truly.

My MRI is scheduled for Wed, the 25th at 10:15, prayers for my claustrophobia please.
I am thankful they made it so quickly, that it is an Open MRI and that it is 4 minutes from home which allows Bob to drop me off and come back... I can't drive because I will be Drugged by Valium.

This is NOT my dress form, wish it was and that I could wear that size dress. I found it in the foyer to Hobby Lobby. UMMM 30 percent off and it is STILL 70.00.... and it is  a decoration, not a working model. Would you stand this in your house? which room?

Monkey Shines - Follow the sun

There he lay, abandoned and gutless... Jake did surgery to remove the squeaker

I went into a SnapHappy Moment

and the next thing I new I was singing YMCA at the top of my lungs. Wonder Why
In waiting mode  for the MRI on my back my mojo has returned.  While doing my exercises  I had a good talk with ME.

I am choosing to be thankful it is leg pain and not something worse.
Some of you are dealing with losing your sight, losing love ones and/or pets, cancer or other  health issues and the world in general has gone quite mad. This change in thought made me think of not one but 3 posts in my brain...Welcome back to my dear MOJO...

6 am UPDATE Sat am...I slept for 7 hours 40 minutes without waking up. I shopped yesterday, the ALEVE IS WORKING

Hark! me thinks that's a Hawk..

We were eating breakfast and a really loud shrieking was coming from the back yard, on the way out I grabbed the camera... there he was sitting way up on the power line. Took a shot! with a camera silly..

I returned to breakfast...again with the loud shrieking... what is up with that? Per internet this is a red tailed hawk, the most common in North America and he was shrieking to claim his territory. NO OTHERS HUNTING ALLOWED UPDATE: TexWisGirl thinks he is a Red Shoulder. Feel free to tell me what he is.

Me thinks he is a HAWK

I stood staring up in the tree, could not see him anywhere, He moved slightly and he was 20 feet up over my head.. Giving me the evil  hawk eye...

In this tree...

He doesn't seem to be to happy with the snappy lady snapping her camera. thrilling, even though HE ATE ALL OUR BIRDS..

thank you to Andrea Priebe, who in the comments said a juvenile red shoulder and asked if the sound was like the one i had. It is not. i found the Red shoulder sound and have added it...the second one down is what we see and hear.

Follow the sun..Green leaves

Never say there is nothing beautiful in the world anymore.
There is always something to make you wonder, in the shape of a tree, the trembling of a leaf.
Albert Schweitzer

I live in the Sunshine State and the sun never ceases to amaze me as it points out the common in my life and turns it to beauty.

I am still alive report

Since I am home most of the time, I find myself waiting each day to see what the morning sun will point out what I need to SEE to photograph.

Sorry I am still missing most of your posts, my Doctor appt is this Thursday.. Will let you know what he says about this pain that is crippling me. I attended the funeral of my friend Rich yesterday and with 2 aspirin, i got through the morning very well.

Funny thing happened... If you have known me for a while, you know I am a pessimist and also the queen of what if's.  As I slid my black leather sandals on for the funeral, I thought " you better put extra shoes in the car, these have been stored in a shoe box for years, about 9 years and the strap might break"

I walked down the hall to the rest room and on the way back IT DID BREAK and I DID NOT take extra shoes... needless to say the next 2 hours the sound of flapping sandal filled the air....
