Emerson Point Welcome Center

Above is the Welcome Center, not always open because it is only open when volunteers can be there. A ranger lives in a home behind it but is to busy to run the center. My question is Why did they put the bathrooms UP all those stairs? and when I got there, it had Handicap on the door. so how does a Handicap get up there?   Dear State Park builders using our money... what were you thinking?

the butterfly garden had a dozen rocks painted like Lady Bugs, about the size of my fist. I am wondering why? decorative? and of course Dear Hubby Bob was standing under the Osprey nest and I was taking a shot of him and totally Missed The Osprey as it flew up out of the nest..  I did get a shot of the nest.

Now that is just plain mean putting a handicap bathroom in a spot that isn't accessible to a handicapped person. Bad planning on someone's part :)
That nest is pretty fascinating.

It looks a nice park. How silly not to have a ramp for disabled people. Shame you missed the Osprey. He sure has a cosy nest.

Good morning, Sandra! It looks like a pretty park. They should have a ramp for the handicap. Pretty views of the water and Osprey nest. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!

Some very interesting unanswered questions. I like the design of the little buildings. I just had a conversation with Mark about some things that would help seniors yet they take them away because they are also a gathering place for teens. You stop one group from hanging out yet you hurt another group of people by not letting them have a bench to take a rest.

Nice place yes - but I don't understand the handicapped restrooms being "up" there either. Nice Osprey nest too.

Well, at least the story of Bob standing under the osprey nest did not end like I thought it was going to...yeah for Bob.

Don't ask me about the bathrooms/steps...I wonder if they were spending their own money would they spend as foolishly. Maybe a ramp is in the future, but I would put the ramp before the bathroom or what is the use?

Yay, I am back to comment. And what were they thinking with that bathroom? Great photos and another place I must keep in mind whenever we get back to Florida.

I'm wondering if there was perhaps another way to get to those handicap washrooms that didn't require climbing stairs.Looks like an interesting place to visit though.

Bathrooms are SO important!!! I visit every single one I see! I even DREAM of bathrooms!! Or needing to GO to a bathroom!!
I painted some ladybug rocks! They are old now and could do with a new paint job!!

Osprey are quite the nest builders! They "go green" by recycling all kinds of stuff they find.
