Of Ketchup Bottle and Weeds

For the last 3 days, Bob has been in the backyard waving a chain saw in the air, with a few whacks of hedge clippers... and a lot of huffing and puffing as he pulled 10 foot long 4 inches around logs from the trees.

I hid in the kitchen, watching out the sliding glass doors, near by the phone to call 911 when he either cut his leg off or a tree fell on him or he had a stroke/heart attack...

He came to the door and presented me with tiny white flowers and reminded me these are the only flowers he ever brought me..

I grabbed my tiny ketchup bottle for a vase, sat it on the counter, sat it on the grill, held it over the pool... you get the gist of the story. I was searching for the perfect photo just for YOU.. Besides, it gets boring hovering by the back door watching Bob work.

He watched as I snapped the white weeds for a minute and left, returning with with the purple flowers.... for prior post on the cute ketchup bottle vase CLICK HERE

I love my volunteer weeds from the neighbors yard across the street which is blanketed in these sweet little flowers. Bob may not love them though, since they require more work on his part. but NOT with the chain saw... Heh Heh Heh..

NEED I SAY MORE?????????????

I love your "flowers" no matter how you came by them. I also have visions of the Texas Chainsaw movies which I never saw (no pun intended).

Best,
Bonnie

A sweet gift of flowers for your bottle vase. I love the pictures. When John does anything, I hover in the background, holding my breath, with the phone in my hand!!!

Oh Sandra, this is a heartwarming post indeed. Imagine that Bob came back with more flowers when he saw you appreciated them so you even photographed them. Lately I've become like a clucking hen whenever Grant does something, hovering and asking if I can help! Thanks for this delightful story of love. Have a great day. Jo xx

Oh my on the branch in the pool! I took some pictures last year of the trimming Mark did on our bougainvillea's out front so we can maybe hire someone next time. It's too risky!! Love your little ketchup bottle, that worked out very well. Cute flowers.....

Oh they are so pretty, and I love the little bottle, too! I am with you on chain saws....they scare me to death! I can't watch though...I try to find something else to do in the house so I won't freak out. Mark fell out of a tree once while sawing a limb off...I was at school and didn't know til I got home. So I know bad things can happen in the blink of an eye!

You have some weeds with pretty flowers in Florida. I'm wondering how Bob fished that branch out of the pool?

Love your thoughtful Bob...cute little flowers that are perfect for your "vase".
My boys always brought me bouquets like that when they were young.
My window sill was so pretty decorated with Love.
The grand kids on my post are now 20 years old and Samantha is almost 13.
Time really flies.

He presented you a lovely bouquet. By the way, the purple/pink ones are oxalis. It's so very soft and tender and has leaves that look almost like shamrocks.

Lovely little bouquet! At least he didn't use the chainsaw on them... Thank you so much for your incredibly kind + generous comments on my blog. I really appreciate it.

I love those sweet little flowers and the ketchup jar vase - and the thoughtful Bob. Is that a tree in the pool? Was that the desired effect? Is Bob under the tree, using it for shade? Curious minds want to know!
