TMI -TP-TT

TMI (to much info) TP (toilet paper) TT (toilet tissue)

This all started when I said to Bob... how many rolls of TP do you have in your bathroom?
His answer was
"enough" and mine was HOW MANY?
I took the easy route and counted, he had 4 and I had 2 rolls.
He said why do you worry? 6 rolls is plenty, there are only 2 of us...

OMW! what if one of us came down with Montezuma Revenge?
What if there was a leak under one sink and it all got wet?
What if a hurricane/tornado came and we could not get out?

Are you picking up what I am putting down???

Back in the 50's we had an outhouse, we used TP but there were many in the back hills of KY that used corncobs and Sears Catalogs. Because I refused to use those two items, mother carried a roll in her purse at all times. TMI??

Have you ever wondered what they did on wagon trains? you might say leaves, but think about thousands of miles of prairies...and where was the PRIVACY?

How Low Does Your Toilet Paper Go

I mean How many rolls are in your home right now? Do you stock once a week?
Are you a hoarder? Or just enough? I try to keep 20 rolls on hand at all times.

This Post has been Snapperfied because my brain never ever never rests.
Did you know that TP starts out as wet paper? see below How they make it
Toilet Tissue - a soft, lightweight, sanitized paper used in bathrooms for personal cleanliness.
Also called toilet paper, bathroom tissue. Origin of toilet paper 1880-1885 photo and definition from

Jake eats our paper rolls that are left over, there ARE other things to do with them.. FOUND ON WEB

Nice to do different things with the waste materials...

I like to always have at least a dozen rolls on hand but I can remember when I was little at home we had newspaper cut into squares, threaded onto string and hung in the toilet. This was just after the war when things like that were hard to come by. We only had an outdoor toilet, no heating and lots of spiders. I consider myself to have had a lucky life when I look back to what my Mum and Dad had to deal with. The war must have bee terrible for them.

I often think I should blog about what life was like when I was a child just after the war. So different.

Hello, hubby does the shopping and always big the big packages of TP. So we have a lot of TP right now in the house. I guess you could say we are hoarders of TP. I like the artsy paper rolls. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

I've always had toilet paper and just take it for granted. Now you've given me cause to worry!! I'm going to stock up and store it up high so it won't get wet in case of a flood!!

Best,
Bonnie

Very interesting! With 2 little ones I get nervous when we go under about 20... We use bio-degradable TP made from sugarcane...

I tend to buy TP and stash it for emergencies!!! Mama did the same!

I don't know how many rolls I have on hand, but I always like to keep a package unopened. So when the regular supply starts getting low, I get a new package. The packages with 9 or 12 'double' rolls.

Yes, I have wondered about wagon trains and where they went. Somewhere I read that women would stand around a woman, blocking her from view...but I have only read that once. In all the personal diaries I have read, it is seldom even mentioned, much less any details. Quite often and well about women and their personal needs if you know what I mean. And I think about the women with little babies, and women had babies while on the train.

I go to Costco and buy their huge bpackets of rolls. Since I live far from the stores, I like to be stocked up, so now I have en extra sixpack in case I run out of Costco rolls. TMI, indeed. Faith also likes to eat the insides.

I always have a package of 12 rolls on hand. And extra rolls of paper towels, too. I remember years ago when my grandmother was living we had a conversation about what they used back in her day for feminine products. She told me that they made pads sewn together out of old material and washed them over and over again. They also used catalogs and leaves outside or in the outhouse. I can remember using leaves when playing outside in the woods. You would want to know what poison ivy or poison oak looked like and not use that! lol!

That reminds me, I need to pick up more TP. Lol.

We go to Costco at my daughters once a month or so.

We also load up of package of rolls.

Plus we buy most groceries there and cheese, chicken pot pie. Hubby like those and the apple pies of Costco beats any baking goods where we live. My daughter knows inside and out of the store. So she goes with us. Of course she is 50 odd . So she runs down the isles. with our list. I find that store is huge.

Our stores here in country are very expensive.
We buy the paper rolls and the laundry soap. Now I am getting carried away. In saving items. Even though we are only two of us.

My Mom shopped that way and so does my daughter and my daughter in-law.

Since this product does not get old or have a special 'shelf life' I tend to always have lots in the house, like an extra package that consists of 24-36 rolls.

My mind is always full of the what if's! We buy the big supplies at Costco. With three restrooms and 5 people (Dylan is over a lot) we go through a lot and yes I like the extras to always look the same at all times.

I usually buy the 12 roll pack and I have a basket in the bathroom that holds 4 rolls. When I put the last 4 rolls in the basket that's when I put toilet paper on the shopping list.
Gibbs used to like to tear up the empty rolls but he doesn't seem to have much of an interest in them any more.

We've not lots of storage, so I try not to buy more than a dozen at a time. And yes, my 'what-if' mentality has me keeping a careful eye on the inventory.

I've only the vaguest of memories from our overseas vacation in '57, but I think it was France where the bathroom facilities were monitored by old ladies selling individual squares of tissue! They looked and felt more like waxed paper! Gosh, I wish my mother were still around so I could ask her ...

Too funny. We go to CostCo. I guess that answers your question :)

I had to count my spares...twelve plus each bathroom stocked.

I know the leftover rolls have been used for crafts, but I never thought to paint them like in your photo. Two in our household, and I try to restock when it gets down to six rolls left in the pack. That's ten overall, with two on the holders and two in the "back-up container" in the upstairs bathroom. I usually have a roll in my backpack, too - just in case. It came in handy on our train ride, I left it there for others to use when there was none to be found.

We always buy a jumbo pack. Good to always have enough and its cheaper that way. My mind boggles at using a corncob. I often wonder how those hundreds of refugees go to the toilet??

What a timely post and question, Sandra! We usually have 12-15 rolls in the closet, plus at least 2-3 rools in each bathroom. The best place for us to buy is when on sale at CVS or Walgreen's which is much less costly than the supermarket. And, yes, I too have wondered about those same things concerning personal hygiene in earlier days and even today in many oarts of the world and even in the U.S.

I'm so glad I've always had an indoor bathroom. :) I keep a minimum of 12 rolls. We may be joining Costco, so then we'll probably keep a lot for back up. :)

It's certainly one of the things I always like to be sure I won't run out of... Prefer to know I have at least a dozen or so in stock at home, in case I get ill or something. I can't recall ever letting it run down to 0! With kitchen paper as well, I always like to know I have a few extra rolls. I'm also like that with detergents and soap and favourite hand creams etc. If not before, as soon as I open a new pack/bottle, I buy a new one.

I can always count on you to come up with something fun and even weird to share about. TP is a good one! We keep plenty on hand and I try to keep a roll in the car as well for those times when you might need one while out and about on a leisurely drive etc...

We only buy it on sale. And we keep backup rolls in every washroom area. As a child after the war there was only newspaper. And then there are countries that only supply you wilth water!! It may be a special jug or a hose by the appliance.
