Closed for Cataract Surgery

See you when I can SEE
My Cataract surgery is scheduled for tomorrow Sept 22nd the left eye, Oct 6th right eye, I have the expensive 3 bottles of drops ready and waiting. and a list of things to do and not do, highlighted in bright yellow.

Eye would rather not do this, and eye don't think there are many puns eye can make with meye point of view...

Eye think I should stop, really I am seerious.... so Please don't lash out at me for this list...

Day of surgery, Do Not Come Early.. wear No Makeup , no powder, no perfume, no body lotions/creams and no pull over shirts. Dress warmly and wear  a button down the front shirt. You will not be required to remove your clothing but We must have access to your chest.

What???

What if when the surgeon sees my face with no make up, she faints from shock? or the anesthetist forgets to push the anesthesia button when he OPENS my shirt?
The only open down the front shirts I own are from 2005, I have 3 in addition to the one above. that photo is from 2007.
but then why should I care if I am old, fat with no makeup and a ratty denim shirt... I will not be able to SEE me, it is the surgical team that will have that problem.

I had both of mine done, and it was so much better than I had feared. Not even one shot! They numbed my eyes with drops. Sitting here at the computer, I have just said a prayer for you. Bev tells me that the Florida doctors are the best.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Everyone I've known who has had cataract surgery has been so happy with the results afterwards. I would be in trouble if I had to go for this because I have NO shirts that open down the front. All of mine are pull over

Good luck Sandra Eye know you will do fine and Eye will keep you in my prayers.
Boy did I have email issues yesterday. All was okey dokey then at 8 am bang I could not send or receive. I could see 40 emails in my in box but they would not load. Spent 40 min on the phone with AT&T. Then she had to turn it over to the next level of troubleshooting. She said she was pretty sure I was the first of many to be having issues. Friends in Kansas and Florida did too.
Emails finally started coming in at 5pm

Enjoy your twilight dream. So fast and your out. And on your way home. I had two hour drive for me after.
The one thing I did not like was the wait in the halls before you go in to operating room.

If in the halls before you get into the operating room.
If mother nature calls you. The nurse staff will let you use the bathroom. I was waiting in hall with others for 2 hours. And mother nature did call. With the move I was only three minutes from the one washroom. And it is only a 7 minute removal of cataract.

I guess it is clean up for nurses for the next one.
You go in a line up on the bed they started you out with.

Lucky you. I had to wear this ridiculous P.Js they hand you.
The pants were so tight.

And they ask you every second at-least at my hospital.
What eye are you getting it in? What allergies do you have ?

I think it is to test your mind honest to goodness.

As I had all that done on paper months ago.

So you will see such beautiful colors after . Bright.

Hugs from Canada You will be fine.

Best of luck and sending lots of hugs. From what everyone keeps telling it's a breeze ;) Yes I know, if ever we meet up you can kick me. In all seriousness, sending prayers and wishes for speedy healing. I will be thinking of you and look forward to hearing from you when it's all over and you can get on here again.

I love this picture of you!
Your instructions sound just like those given my DH when he underwent the membrane removal. (Cataracts are next.) He wasn't concerned about make-up (ha!), but we got around the button-up shirt business by making a fast trip to Goodwill.
Will be holding you in our thoughts and prayers!

PS - You're right about the expensive eye drops. Geezle ... someone's getting rich, and it sure ain't us!

It will be so much clearer after it's all done and they only sedate you a bit and freeze the eye. After many eye procedures I know you'll be fine as this one is very common now. But no swimmimg till you heal right?
hugs
And welcome to fall season.
