Eyem back part 3

I can always find something to fret about.... while waiting for my Cataract Surgery, my fretter kicked in  when The office called to tell me I was schedules for 6:25 am for surgery. she said I could drink water and a cup of black coffee before 4:30, since we wake up at 4 YAH!  then it occurred to me... if I drink a glass of water and a cup of coffee will I wet myself while under anesthesia?

OF COURSE you know  I asked  Google Girl in my tablet .

ME: Do we pee when we are under anesthesia?
Google girl said out loud. YOU DO NOT WET YOURSELF OR SOIL YOURSELF, you are unconscious and incapable of doing that under anesthetic so you won't need a nappy

Happy Dance... I can drink the coffee and not fret.

But then Something Happened that I never thought to fret about. We left home at 11 am for my 24 hour post surgical check, it was 2 miles to the office. we had 20 minutes to drive 2 miles.

We got 1/2 mile from the office....and OH NO! Police cars and Police People and Flashing Lights and fire trucks blocking ALL 4 streets leading to the office.. OH NO!

We had to drive 7 miles around it and come up from the back, it took 25 minutes because so were all the other 87 million drivers doing the same thing. We were only 5 minutes late.

When we got home, I checked the news..
.Our Cable Guys drilled into the
GAS LINES, UNDER the intersection BY the Hospital...
as you can tell we are safe because I am typing this.
Can you imagine the fretting I would be doing if I had know what the blockade was for?
The office new it was blocked but not why.. Lucky Me

LUCKY ME! I HAD ON MY GORGEOUS BIG SUNGLASSES ..see above
UNLUCKY ME! I WAS RIDING WITH MY HUBBY DRIVING WHICH I NEVER EVER NEVER DO.... HE DID NOT DO WELL WITH DIRECTIONS SINCE HE HAD NO IDEA HOW TO GO AROUND IT...and does not listen well at all

Hello Sandra, It was just as well you didn't know the reason for the hold up, but fret no more my friend, all turned out well, and I hope your recovery is swift. All the best!:)

Ps I have cataracts too, but won't be operated for a while yet, at the moment I'm having to deal with a tooth abscess, which is driving me up the wall, and round the bend.:( Shall we dance, I'll lead!!!::))

So glad all of that is behind you now and hopefully next time, there won't be any delays. You look movie star-like with the glasses!

MOLMOLMOL Google Girl that was funny. but 'he does not listen well' was funnier. Been there done that. My hubby argues with the GPS. On a trip i will take written directions to he can't argue with both of us. Because one of us will give him the stink eye

Good morning, you never know what can happen with traffic. That is why I drive hubby crazy by wanting to leave extra early. I am glad all turned out well. Nice shot of you in your sunglasses. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

Sandra we had to detour also. They were putting in pipe lines all for a new sub-division. So we normally went that way. The directions go here and turn this way. Well when we got to where we were told. All had to go back where we came from. Duh sign not there.
The detour came back to square one . All the cars were turning right road. We followed. If it had a sign there. All guested. We would of cut out half hour or more and got to Hospital. No we were first directed to a dead end tour. One guy said someone must of taken the sign down in the night.

Why, does this happen when we need to be at the hospital in time. And we left early enough.

My friend said as she goes to same Specialist. Said they have another detour for something else since you were there Sid. So they have mapped out where to go for us in Oct appointment. Hopefully I can get my right eye done. Cataract removed soon.

Looking pretty cool with those glasses Sandra girl. I have the wrap around ordered by my Specialist. I love mine. I see people. They cant see me. Ha-ha.
I still have to wear them and it has been a year. The sun is too bright when I am out in it. If I do not wear them.

Oh talk about men with directions. Yikes. Thinks he is a know it all. And I was the one telling him to follow the other cars back or we would of ended up Goodness where.

I've been meaning to drop in and say that I'm so happy your surgery went well. - My goodness you did have a time getting there. I bet you really wondered what on earth was going on. Thankfully it wasn't something like a (bomb) or a (standoff) situation. Hope your vision is much better now & I've been enjoying your fun puns.

Murphy's Law! You made me laugh when you mentioned Bob and directions. Gregg is the same way. Applies to many of the opposite sex. I read recently 10 things your husband won't say and one of them was, "Let's pop into the gas station and ask for directions ;)

A conspiracy of circumstances! You look so good in the sunglasses! You should keep and wear them. Too bad Google Girl cannot tell you if they are polarized. But the doctor's office should know. You set Google Girl to be English, jolly good. Because she said nappy instead of diaper. So genteel.

"my fretter kicked in"... love the expression! (in my mind I see the fretter as a ferret...) ... When I have an important appointment I usually take an earlier bus than needed because I fret about something happening to make me late...

The things I learn when reading blogs is really amazing. Thanks, Sandra for letting me know that I won't have to worry about drinking too much before having a procedure with anesthesia. And, glad you were not too late for the appointment even with Bob driving!

It's good to know that should I ever have surgery I won't have to worry about wetting myself while I'm under anesthesia. :)

Aha ... another FRETTER!
God Bless, I knew we were kin. :)

Wetting myself while unconscious hadn't occurred to me, but it was bound to come up. Google Girl rocks!

PS - Those are great-looking sunglasses.

Glad you made it, love the glasses! I read that we might get liquid in our lungs is why they are so strict about it. I said well if that is the case then just tell us we may die, no problem not drinking if it might kill me lol. Check it out, just I read it??
