Looking UP and Down..

Our Avocado tree is about 3 stories high now. in the top photo you can see the roof lines on either side. the tree is so big I can't get the whole tree in a photo..
Below this Red Admiral comes to visit every day at 4:30, they are territorial and come back to the same place at the same time each day. He sat on Bob's head, my head, my back and arm several times. Each day we go out and wait for him to come to sit on us.
A Little Thing Causing Much Joy...

I had no idea the tree could be that large. That is amazing about the butterfly. So very special.

Good morning Sandra!:) How on earth do you get the fruit down! I didn't know that Red Admirals are so territorial,... how lovely that they alight on you, and that you can count on their appearance each day. Magical moments!

He is a beautiful butterfly. I would love to visit with him every day. That quote is so true. We are envious of your avocado tree. We love avocados and buy them all the time.

Look at his shadow you captured, WOW!! Awesome! The tree is huge! And I bet it produces tons of avocados! I remember your pictures of the Admiral from a long time ago, with him sitting on either you or Bob.

As a photographer I notice a lot of little things that others over look. Little things can make amazes shots! Avocado Trees....awesome. My daughter in laws parents lived on their own little peak up on a mountain area right outside of San Diego and they had a bunch of these. Sold avocados to the local business. Very cool you have your own.

Hello Sandra, I love that quote. So true! Do you need a ladder to pick your avocados? Pretty capture of the butterfly. It is cold here can you send me some of that warm Florida air, please.
Have a happy day and new week ahead!

So true, that quote! Poignant.
Your and Bob's 4:30 ritual sure sounds relaxing ... and now that pretty Red Admiral is famous in his/her own right!

It really is the little things...the way the sun hits the side of the building, birds that always come back, a smile when someone could have just as easily frowned...sometimes just a kind word. Whether spoken to you or overhearing someone speak to someone else that way...

Isn't that a beautiful butterfly! And you're so right about the little things. The sooner we learn that, but sooner our lives will be happier. But wait a minute - a three-story-tall avocado tree??? I had no idea they grew that tall. And is it loaded with avocados? It's a good thing there's not one in my yard. I love those things! I just bought six rock-hard avocados last week and had to put them in a brown paper bag with a banana for a few days just so they'd ripen. I sure hope you love avocados. :-))

how cool that must be for him to sit on you.

That tree is amazing. I've recently seen a few butterflies sitting outside at rehab with my dad. They are always a pleasure.....
