I love this collage, and the way it's set up! And the Danes are gorgeous! I especially like the spotted one. The black and white one looks quite old, but in great shape. They are big, quiet, gentle dogs. As for the last picture, I DO believe it exploded! A Dane would never, under any circumstances, be naughty!! Poor baby!

I thought I was going to read a post on vikings when I saw the title Danes, lol, but this was equally good especially the exploding sofa, so funny.

There used to be a Great Dane lived down the way...I never got to pet him. But every one I have ever seen up close was so friendly....one time I was stopped trying to take a photo and one came from across and down the road and tried its best to get in the car with me/us!

LOL I was just sitting here and the entire thing exploded. That made me LOL
Back in February during our April like weather I was walking around an out door mall. I noticed in the very far distance a large dog. As I got closer I saw that it was a black and white Dane. The owners told me that is referred to as Harlequin. Her name was Sophie, she was 10 months old, 125 lbs, her head was level at my chest, I am 5'4". I was given permission to pet her...but the owner warned, "she is a leaner"! I must have looked puzzled...she said you'll see. As I began to pet Sophie she gradually started leaning into my body. Thankfully I had a wall behind me. Then the most amazing thing happened. Sophie's gaze changed, she was looking behind me as a toddler was approaching. YOu could see the child was not afraid.
As the child got closer, Sophie gradually began to lower her body into a
bow. Her head was then at the child's level. I asked the owners how long it took to train her to do that. They said they didn't train her, she did it instinctively the first time she saw a small child. Talk about stunned..
Wow. I don't know who was more gleeful at the meeting the child or Sophie.
Thank you for the photos and reminding me about this encounter. I might just have to post this on a Tuesday tale no photos
Hugs Cecilia

Love Danes. There is a man that lives up around the block from my mom and the first time I saw him walking Captain I had to stop and talk to him. He had just gotten the dog the day before. Now when I stop when they are outside Captain runs to the car, sticks his head in the window to say hello. He is white with the black spots. Beautiful

Tom's daughter and SIL had/have Danes ... beautiful, but seriously kind of scary when he wants to crawl in your lap!

They are both beautiful. I wonder how hard it is to have two big dogs in the house.
