Making Do...again

Photo edit in Lunapic

My neck ached for a few days, then it was keeping me awake at night. I lay awake thinking of what I had done differently the past week. The answer????

Words With Friends on FB.... Looking Down at my tablet.. a LOT... For one day I did not look down. I either propped it on 2 pillows in my lap or stood at hubby's tall dresser, propping it up. Pain Gone. Since I need to stand more, I headed to WM to buy a stand. OH MY! 30 to 60 dollars. NOT!

I decided I had to take the upper Stand. Thinking a bird in the stand is better than 2 at Wal-Mart I tried to get the upper stand of my age diminished brain, stand over fist I made my way through my memory bank and POP! I remembered this picture stand packed in the bottom of the closet. IT WORKS! it's FREE! and my pain is gone... Please will you give me a Standing Ovation?

Today you get a HUGE standing ovation from me! I looked and looked at this picture! There is a portrait of you and Bob, and your Scrabble game, and a jewelry box, and your list. You are a genius for that picture stand. Who knew? Scrabble, Words With Friends, we love them! I am already playing with a few blog friends. Lets play!! Which game? You start one if you want. Just remember, I am a really late sleeper. Wonder if we will have the same ability, like we do everything else. We don't have to play more then a move or two a day, some of my games last for many days.

I stand and bow to thee! When I worked I had such an issue with the neck and shoulders hurting so bad. I ended up having to build my monitor up so that I looked right into it. The laptop is different, so I usually prop it up on the arm of the couch. Like you....I can't sleep tonight.

Good morning, clapping and standing ovation!!! The picture frame is perfect. My neck is hurting a lot more lately too. I go to the doc in a couple of weeks to see if anything will help. Love the photo in the photo. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

I fully understand the neck thing, I've propped my desktop screen up on a book so that I am inline with it and not looking down. We mature people have to make adaptions, lol
a recipe book holder may have done you.

Big screen computing. HDMI Cable from laptop to T.V.; sit in recliner with mouse on arm rest and wireless keyboard on lap. I don't do it often but for a 'gamer' like yourself, it's an option. ;) ;) On the slightly more serious side, I use a stand similar to the one in your picture for a few applications with my tablet.

Making do was one of my Mama's favorite sayings. She was the baby of 7 born when her mom was 44 years old. Her oldest sister was 21. By the time Mama came along (unexpectedly) lots of making do was necessary. LOL

That made me smile when I read it. YAY you are a MS make doer!!
Love the fancy photos too

Awesome! I was going to suggest 'My Pillow' that I see advertised on TV. Those ads make it sound like it will solve all your problems but you solved your own. Love the edit on that photo.

love the photo of you and Bob! the entire pic is so pretty! Kyle was getting headaches and his neck was hurting. the doctor told him he was losing his curve in his neck due to texting, looking down at his monitor etc.. I bought him a pillow with a small curve to sleep on. he saw a chiropractor for a bit.

Hi Sandra, to answer your questions on my blog....No, I do not ride Misfire. I just want her to be happy and live her life out just being her. The last time she was rode about 10 to 12 yrs ago she threw my niece and my niece is an expert rider. She has showed horse all out west and Canada. Misfire just decided that she had not been ridden in a while and she was not having any part of it. Take my word for it...I am NOT a country girl and when I first went to visit Chris the first time he figured I would not fit in, he did not consider that I LOVE critters! It sort of blew him away that I sat on the ground and fed pigs and goats crackers and scratched the pigs bellies. He did have to ask me to stop washing the mud off the pigs! It is a protection thing for their skin from the sun and here I was washing them down!! haha....Like I said, I love critters, birds also. But there is NO love lost between TJ and I! I have had sometimes with that boy and I have told him and my brother that I have no problem plucking him and cooking him. My life house/and critter sitting for my brothers has its laughs for sure.

I hadn't looked real close at the picture before I read your post and what you usrd was exactly what I thought of. Even if you wouldn't have had one you can get those pretty cheap.

I'm clapping for you, but I'm not standing! I developed a ganglion cyst on the inside of my wrist and I'm pretty sure it was caused by constant use of my iPad. My doctor says if it doesn't go away on its own, I may end up having to have it surgically removed. Yikes!

So happy you found a solution and I love this picture! We did not receive the return box for the laptop yesterday as promised...maybe today. Most of the time I can see my screen, so I thought I would say "hi" one more time while I can! lol
Have a nice day.

Making "do" with things we already have in our homes OR things we can buy second-hand and then adapt to a new use is great. Lately, I have been doing that myself. My next "project" may be creating a holder for my tablet when following a cooking recipe in the kitchen. And, if I do, I'll be sure to post about it too! Glad you neck ache is gone now too :-)
