Epipremnum aureum - Pothos

Flash Lighting
It was still dark outside when the urge to snap hit me, The flash on the camera was as always not good. I grabbed the flashlight.

The only plant I don't kill is this Pothos, it has been hanging in the corner of my kitchen since 1989. Repotted by Bob, who is the green thumb person. He has repotted it 3 times in 27 years, it lives ON.

Warning, if you live in Florida and throw the trimmings out on the ground it will thrive and take over your yard and fence and even grow to the top of a tree. I know from Experience.

Teaser for tomorrows post, What is This?

This looks like a lorgnette (magnifying necklace). I have had at least three. This pothos is at least 30 years old? Did I do the math right? And it looks good. I used to have one, they are on the "hard to kill" list.

We have one of those. It's the only live plant in the house. Wade brought it with him when we got married. He takes care of it which is why it's not dead.
I like the magnifying glass. I need one of those for when I'm out shopping and don't have any readers with me

It's some sort of magnifying glass. I like your idea of using the flashlight.

Our plant is about 30 years old. They are hardy indoors so I'm not surprised they can be a pest outside. A 'spy glass' disguised as a necklace ;)

Amazing that the plant is so long-lived. I cannot grow anything in a pot!
Is that a magnifying glass of sorts?

The only time I had success with a flower garden was when we lived in Alpharetta, Ga in the 80's, and it was in hard red GA clay! I'm guessing this is a magnifying glass. Looks like something I could use :)

I love the way you take some simple thing and make it look wonderful with your photography.
I think I used to call this sweet heart plant when I had one years ago.

MS you call that a Pothus....I call it an aerial Madi toy. OMCS I could jump up and play swatty with that lowest leaf.

My human uncle is a Plant Pathologist and a real rose expert. When my human uncle lived in NY he adopted 2 sister kitties. He had lots of plants inside too. In particular one hanging just like yours from a macrame hanger that had a tassel on the end. While Uncle was away at work one day the kitties(they were about 9months old) decided it would make a good swing. All he could figured was they took turns jumping up to the tassel grabbing it with their claws and swinging. Eventually the hook came out of the ceiling the pot landed on the carpet...dirt was everywhere when he got home...........but amazingly the kitties were fast a sleep BUT there forgot to clean their paws.
Hugs madi your bfff

Amazing that your plant has lived so long. Rina (the widow who lived in our house for two years) has the green thumb and repotted all my plants. Needless to say, when we moved here to the Berg, Rina got all my many indoor plants. Grant has a fit when he visits and sees my huge old fern (which is 17 years old and called Andries after my dad who first gave it me) on the lounge chair for lack of anywhere else to put it! Mmm. That's a magnifier like we read about on Hootin' Anni's blog?

this is the kind of plant I need. :) my mom bought me a necklace with a magnifying glass and I've misplaced it. :( it looked an old fashioned key in soft gold.
happy Sunday!

Maybe that plant would love for even me! I wondered if it was a magnifying glass...maybe a firestarter in your world. Did you ever use a magnifying glass to start a fire?

Unlike my late mother, I've a BLACK thumb when it comes to keeping plants alive.

Still, this looks hardy as well as beautiful. (I'd rather have a green leafy thing than flowers any day.)

Tom and I have to visit Lowe's soon to get a tutorial on keeping succulents alive ... yes, those in mother's mixing bowl passed away. :( I'm going to see if the Pothos would work in Arizona.

They are hard to kill! I'm not sure what that is in your last shot, but I like it.

Anything and everything grows for you and I can't manage to keep a houseplant alive.

HAHA....I used to be so good with house plants but that sort of when by the way side once I had kids to care for. My house plants do so much better when I move them to the deck.....I remember to water them then! haha....I do have a Philodendron that was given to me when I was pregnant with my son, he will soon be 30. A lady I worked with was retiring and she gave it to me. Also I have a mother in laws tongue that my ex mother in law gave me and I have probably had it as long as I have the philly. Surprised they still live!!!

I like the flashlight shots. I have a few pothos in the house, they are so easy to care for. I worked in a small flower/plant shop 39 years ago. I had over 200 house plants in our house at the time back in Illinois.
